I saw Iowa do i all the time. Effectively. Now I see Mich and Ohio State doing it. Our d line needs to learn how to do this.
Wow, glad someone brought this up. We get it done to us all the time especially with TA being 6-6.1 feet tall. It is perplexing.I saw Iowa do i all the time. Effectively. Now I see Mich and Ohio State doing it. Our d line needs to learn how to do this.
Our lineman are too busy just trying to stay vertical. Maurice is our best lineman and even he is just an average player. Stoltenberg? Meh. Big kid but he plays with poor pad level and is easily leveraged out of most plays. Maybe with experience he will get better. Ditto the Davis twins. But so far they aren't world beaters either. Defensive ends? Good grief. I mean seriously. I have followed Husker football since 1966 and our ends are, without a doubt, the worst I have ever seen at NUour defensive linemen aren't going to knock down any passes while flat on their backs
Do you think it's "paper thin numbers" or perhaps, a lack of substituting by our coaches?Definitely not coaching.
That was a joke. I am sure they have been drilled that, but get exhausted with paper thin numbers. Just like the qbs are drilled to look for easier routes. You can lead a horse to water...
Who would they have brought in?Do you think it's "paper thin numbers" or perhaps, a lack of substituting by our coaches?
I guess my point is that substituting develops depth.
Perhaps we have no depth because we don't substitute enough. Certainly there were opportunities throughout the season to give the backups some meaningful experience.
I'm not dogmatic on the issue, just asking a question.
