Why doesnt the VHSL do a 3rd place game

and have the two losers of the semifinals meet at the higher seed on a Friday night. That way if its played on a Friday night it wont interfere with the Saturday state championships.

I can see a lot of exciting games there....

Same reason the NCAA no longer plays a consolation....

game at the Final Four, nobody cares, especially the teams that lost their shot at the big prize.

I think it defeats the purpose of the last man/woman standing in all sports. Plus if you lose in the semifinals who wants to go back and practice for a week for a third or fourth place finish and would the game actually be competitive. I personally think it's a waste of time and refuse to watch those games even in the Olympics.
