and have someone else issue the licenses until she resigns or obeys the law? Doesn't seem that complicated.

Agree, she obviously can't/won't execute the duties that her job demands but there doesn't seem to be anyone there in county gov't whose willing to do his/her job and relieve this clerk of her duties. I would assume at some point she will be relieved of her duties and be looking for another job. Stay tuned I guess.

We live in a "Christian nation". A we all know Jesus doesn't like gays. He couldn't stop talking about it-it's all over the New Testament. She's protecting the sanctity of marriage. She has a lot of experience with marriage. I believe I read she's on her 4th one right now. She's doing the Lord's work. Let her be.

meh. She'll sue and tie this **** up in courts and waste money. Send her to jail. She'll change her mind.

That's the problem, they can't. She is afforded her due process like everybody else, however it is my understanding that her last appeal is over, and therefore the stay is as well. I believe that with the completion of these processes that they can remove her, arrest her, whatever. They couldn't before.

For anybody that actually supports her ... be careful what you wish for. Government employees don't get to make up their own laws/policies based on their religious beliefs. And for a very good reason.

It's not hard to imagine any number of scenarios where this could play out besides marriage licenses.

I was referring to today, and the future, now that her appeal is done. Don't fire her and don't fine her. Jail her.

Can't. She's an elected Democrat official.

Typical Democrat, total disregard for the laws. What else would you expect from a Democrat. Chicago and Baltimore Democrats won't ENFORCE the gun laws resulting in the slaughter of thousands of African Americans. The Democrat Attorney Generals won't ENFORCE the immigration laws resulting in the deaths and rapes of many American citizens.

Got it. It makes no difference what her politics are, she's wrong and it's just a matter of time until that county issues marriage licenses to whomever wants them.

Agreed. I can't wait until some dude wants 5 wives. Freedom baby.

Link? I haven't seen any mention of what party she's registered as. Of course she's failing to comply due to religious beliefs not political.
