MY god. Aren't State's $35 dollars? And they somehow sell all these tickets. I'm not buying them this year. They have gone up every year I've been in law school. 17 that.

Every student at MSU pays a student activity fee ... of that money, 99 dollars goes to football

So basically, MSU football makes 99 dollars on every student attending school ... then they make 134 from students who attend school AND buy season tickets

In other words, $134 is the more realistic price tag on an MSU student ticket

Don't know how much it is though and I dont know the break down as far as how much goes to football. Anybody know? I tried googling it but I don't have time to worry about it right now.

We do have a student activity fee as well. I don't remember how much it is, and I don't think it's broken down by sport.

They've upped the price of student football tickets, rather than adding it to the activity fee.

Regardless, student tickets are still really cheap, whether they come from the activity fee or not. We sell around 7500 of them. I would assume that number will increase when we expand.

These tickets are in the form of a swipeable card and can be used at all sporting events - not just football - for the fall/spring semester. Pretty good deal.

Not that much more, but around $50 for the season. They will still sell out. And no, that isn't too expensive for a student. It goes onto their student account that either a: their parents pay for or b: will be paid for by student loans that you will pay off when you get a job. An extra $200 won't make a difference on that.

when I went to 5 year in Jackson, part of our tuition was given back to us, I think about 600 dollars for the year since we couldn't buy football tickets or go to the sanderson.

$1,820,200.00 divided by the announced enrollment of 19,536 in 2010 = ~$93.00 from student fees per student per year. ON TOP OF the $105 they are asking for tickets.

That's a total of ~$200 for students who actually buy tickets.

The accuracy of these numbers are in question. I have not asked Ole Miss for a breakdown of tuition and fees and the websites linked to do not link to a source. For instance they said Miss State received a flat $4,000,000 in student activity fees in 2010 which does not jive with the numbers previously stated in this thread unless we have 40,000 students or we charge the ~20,000 students we do have, $100 each semester.

Plus Ole Miss only sells 7,270 student tickets. And they make more money from football than us. TWICE as much.

Football revenues 2010:
Ole Miss: $28,409,774
Miss State: $14,551,275

So now, once again, can someone please tell me why Ole Miss is charging $105 for student tickets?

I’m sure it comes as no surprise to see perennial contenders like LSU, Florida and Alabama at the top. I was surprised to see, however, that Ole Miss brings in less than Vanderbilt.</p>

Now let’s take a look at who the big spenders are:</p><table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="408"><tbody><tr><td width="27"></td><td width="191"></td><td width="191">Football Expenses</td></tr><tr><td>1</td><td>Univ. of Alabama</td><td>$31,118,134.00</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td>Auburn Univ.</td><td>$27,911,713.00</td></tr><tr><td>3</td><td>Louisiana State Univ.</td><td>$25,566,520.00</td></tr><tr><td>4</td><td>Univ. of Florida</td><td>$24,457,557.00</td></tr><tr><td>5</td><td>Univ. of South Carolina</td><td>$22,794,211.00</td></tr><tr><td>6</td><td>Univ. of Arkansas</td><td>$22,005,104.00</td></tr><tr><td>7</td><td>Univ. of Georgia</td><td>$18,308,654.00</td></tr><tr><td>8</td><td>Univ. of Tennessee</td><td>$17,357,345.00</td></tr><tr><td>9</td><td>Vanderbilt Univ.</td><td>$14,152,061.00</td></tr><tr><td>10</td><td>Univ. of Kentucky</td><td>$13,905,724.00</td></tr><tr><td>11</td><td>Univ. of Mississippi</td><td>$11,920,510.00</td></tr><tr><td>12</td><td>Mississippi State Univ.</td><td>$9,951,097.00</td></tr></tbody></table>
