What or where is his stake?

He has stake in a company called Energy Transfer Partners, as well as Philips 66, both of which have major interests (they will own 25% or more) in the Dakota Access Pipeline (he claims to have sold his stake in ETP, but I can't find confirmation of that)

I'm glad he has a stake in american companies. Beat's the hell out of BO's stake in Palestinian Time Shares.[winking] BO should have approved it and he would get credit for doing something positive for the American worker and consumer. It's just tiring that everything on the left has to come in a vacuum.

Having a stake in American companies is one thing ... implementing policy that positively affects those companies is where the ethics and conflict of interest come into play.

I thought you were against the government picking winners and losers? Trump has a vested interest in doing exactly that.

Trump didn't approve 550 mill to a company that was already turned down by the previous admin, Bush, for being on the verge of bankrupcy, only to turn around and give back to Obama 2 mill for his campaign committee. Since Trump spent a lot of his own money, what does it matter. Those companies, oil and gas, aren't some make believe companies like solyndra or A1 Batteries living off the public trough to make ends meet.

So it wasn't OK for Obama, but it's OK for Trump. Gotcha

Wait for the wall

If any of those companies take multi millions, then the CEO bundles back to Trump, millions, then I will scream too. By the way, how does Bernie Sanders afford three homes ona senators salary? Lying cheat like most left wing socialsits.

His wife's family had a lake home that they sold for the money to buy the new one they just bought.

He's been making $175K/year or whatever it is, for quite some time, so having two homes from that isn't far fetched ... the third essentially came from his wife's family.

Does he have a house in the DC area? If so, his salary is not all that great and that's now . The worst example is Harry Reid, went to congress a pauper, now is very rich. He's a smarmy guy.

They don't. I think that Congress should be in session for two months, Jan and Feb, the members go back to their districts to work at real jobs, return in Oct. We would get all the govt we needed.

That's a broad statement of how you think congress should function ... where is the scrutiny of specific GOP members and their money?

I hate that we have people who have made a career out of being a politician. They have no idea how the laws they write impact the working people. I have more respect for people who have earned their money outside government and then gone back into govt than I do for people who have been involved all their lives in govt and then get rich off insider stuff which goes on a lot. Both sides.

$221 mil to the Palestinians? Premier Donnie should be up in arms over this maneuver rather than head count at an inauguration. Maybe an EO to forbid payments like this in the future? Maybe investigating the legality of the payment? Nope....

The US has been providing foreign aid to the Palestinian Authority for a long time in hopes of stabilizing a legitimate government acting under the rule of law. This began during the Clinton administration, was increased substantially during the Bush Administration, and has continued at a significantly reduced level during the Obama administration.

The funding is part of the normal budget process and is authorized and appropriated by Congress.

In this particular case, several Congressmen had put a procedural hold on making they payment. Their reasoning is corruption within that government and continued anti-Israeli activities.
The procedural hold can be done by Congress and it can also be overruled by the president, since the $ already funded and appropriated.

Because of the timing, the Trump administration has been able to put a hold on the payment.

Here is a summary of recent US aid to the PA if you're interested.
