Why is MSU an NCAA tourney team?

Game announcers continue to say the Bulldogs are a tourney team. Why? I’ve seen nothing that tells me this is the case. 6 for 18 FTs at Georgia. Yes…they just beat Georgia on the road, but barely. I want MSU to be playing in March, but do we really think they can even win 1 of the next 5 games. Not beating FL, AL, or OM for sure. Maybe OK is a win.

This league is tough. That's why we're still considered a tournament team. The number one team lost to Florida today, who is ranked in the top 10. Alabama won and is number three, but they should be ranked number one because number two Duke lost.

If you can believe this, Ole Miss came from behind and beat LSU when they were down by double digits.

My bears?? Uhhhh…not even close. I can be a state grad and still lob criticism without being a traitor. I love the team even if I think it’s got some deficiencies. Hope they get hot and win the next 5.

There is lobbing criticism, and then there is not having a 17ing clue about college basketball.
You starting this thread heavily leans towards the latter.

Most of the chatter I saw from bracket experts after last night had us as a high 7 seed for now. Beat UF or OM and you’re probably more like a 6 seed.

They had actually lost once before at home, by two points to Auburn, and UGa had a shot at the buzzer that would’ve sent it to overtime that rimmed out. That is a hard place to win and Georgia is a NCAA Tournament team as it stands now. It was a very good road win.

Why are we a tourney team? We are beating tournament teams. Kinda how the seeding works.

Because while there may be 5-10 SEC teams better than us, there aren't 30 better teams than us across the college basketball landscape.
