Does anybody have an idea why is Region b is playing on Friday , even after having byes they get added luxury of scouting Saturday games.

School decision up until state semi then VHSL mandates Saturday. Class 4 is playing all 4 on Friday. Class 2 and 5 are playing 3 out of 4 on Friday. Only Class 1 has 3 on Saturday. I guess the teams that play Saturday could just as well send someone to scout on Friday night.

Great suggestion and thanks for clearing that up, I should make the trip to see the Big Red Machine in action.

You just wanted to complain, that was obvious. You complain about anyone not picking your team to win and try to make bulletin board material out of it.

Not even having to know what other classifications are doing, if you aren't smart enough to know that since B had this advantage of scouting Saturday and yours did not on Friday then I dont think we can help you.

Not everything is an advantage to someone else or disrespect to your team. Heck, a lot of people on here have never seen your team play, so to get upset about picks not being for your team is crazy

The information above is correct that the VHSL mandates that semi-final and final rounds be played on Saturday. But prior to that, the teams can decide for themselves. Granted Saturday games have better weather chances, but they also conflict with college football AND basketball games. So ordinarily I would favor a Friday night game. Of course this year, UVa and VT are playing each other on Friday night, so there goes that argument. Anybody traveling that night to see a high school game will have to DVR it and hope they don't hear the score. As if that was not bad enough, UVa is also playing basketball that same night.

As for the individual decisions, I know at Riverheads the philosophy is that it is all about routine and rhythm. You get used to playing on Friday night during the season and that is what your body clock is ready to do each and every Friday.

Tru, you should totally come on up to Greenville. We'd love to have you. If you do, please sit with Xcross. I'll sit behind both of you with popcorn in hand. It might be more entertaining than the game. You guys keep the boards lively!

William Campbell is a very good team and I expect a very good game. For those that want to come scout you better watch both because regardless of outcome I would bet money they are in the mix again next year.

And for the record I would venture to say that Sussex and Essex will be back as well.

As for Friday versus Saturday, does it really matter except for that two teams playing.

A little insight for ya, last year when Draft scored in OT to beat the Red team in the final regular season game, there were 10-12 Goochland players along with coaches there scouting Draft. Nice group of people and I enjoyed the conversations I had with them. Didn’t work out for them to play but it was awesome seeing that level of interest.

Come on up to G-ville and enjoy a very good game. You get to see the show and get some good food for under $20, what more can you ask for. One of those two will be playing one of the ‘exs the following week so why not take advantage of it.

Safe travels to all this week as holiday season just adds risk.

Hmm? Sorry I dont have that number handy, but since my team is 2A and a big rival of Riverheads I dont see the point?

Oh, I get it now, since I didn't take your side I must like Riverheads or Essex.

Point proven

In the late 80s and early to mid 90s when real football was played (;)) Region A always had their championship on Saturday and Region B had theirs that Friday night.
