That criticism of Sydney Sweeney and her American Eagle jeans commercial was just awful. Cringe inducing. I see nothing wrong with that commercial whatsoever.

I'd argue the outcry against this ad from leftists is everything that's wrong with the left. This kind of virtue signaling and dogma they have embraced is so incredibly annoying and detrimental to American society.

All I was saying was that the left has created its own type of dogma, and its stupid and unhelpful alot of the time. The outcry against this Sydney Sweeney ad from MANY leftist online and other places is an example of that group think and dogma.

I've already noted and criticized the statement that woman (I think she was a guest commentator on MSNBC) made about Sydney Sweeney and her jeans commercial. There's no defending the stupidity of that statement. I merely wanted to say that the woman who made it does not represent me or "lefties" generally.

Part of this reminds me of the Starbucks Red Cup outrage (where I saw no people actually outraged, just people commenting on the supposed outrage), but the other part of me knows that there does seem to be a purity test on the left full of virtue signaling that is exhausting. I didn't think anything of the Sydney Sweeney ads. But then ACTUAL SCHOLARS ON MESSAGING, EUGENICS AND FASCISM explained what was going on then yes I understood and became pretty mortified because hey sometimes IT'S GOOD TO LISTEN TO EXPERTS.

I mean, I follow hundreds of lefties across social media and I wouldn't have known about this culture war if I hadn't seen it here...but honestly, I would have scrolled past it regardless because it's a made-up nonsense issue that I can't imagine getting worked up about. It's no secret that sex sells and this is nothing new so not sure why this is any different. I would expect the evangelical community being bothered by it before the left but whatev.
