B-ham and not L-ville where the Papa John's stadium is located?

Used to be great to get the $5 special coming out of Cheers after a long night of pounding Walk Me Downs.

Birmingham had a bowl game that need a sponser and Papa John's wanted to push its online ordering option. They sell Papa John's pizza at the games now. The first year, they didn't get to do it because of how late Papa John's signed on. There has been some talk of moving it to Louisville when the Birmingham contract runs out. However, I can't see that being an option now that the SEC is tied in with the bowl.

I just got back in from the game. I have to admit, I don't like Birmingham all that much, but the game has been better each year. They've done a much better job organizing the game itself and the "extra" stuff that comes with those games.

I don't know what the official attendance was announced as but there had to be upwards of 42,000 there today. And there was a chance for disaster when the SEC didn't fill its slot.

(I see ESPN listing the attendance at 38,000 but to be honest, there had to be more than that. Last year we had 35+ there and I felt like there was a lot more there this year.)
