we have a traditional bye week but our schedule had no gimme games after JSU. It's a good idea to play a potentially very easy game at this point in the season. NCAA should return to 11 games if everyone is going to schedule these games. However, I suspect the extra revenue generated by an 8th home game for big programs will ensure that we have these games.
I-AA teams need the money from these games will keep them going.
Both teams benefit in different ways. The SEC teams get a HC opponent, and an easy win to play some youinger players that don't play that much and build depth, and the I-AA teams get money and can tell their recruits that they play against the big boys.
