Let's just call that Carolina Carbonara.
This is what makes my carbonara amazing. Duck, egg yolks. I swear, it's better than adding a bottle of cream and 2 sticks of butter. I get them every 4 weeks from my client. I also, get them all winter long when chickens ain't a laying due to colder temps. We loose a bunch to coyotes, foxes, and coons.

I have recommended to all of my clients, grab yourself a 9 iron. Lol

Or, on the way, head to the Amalfi Coast and order, Scialatielli ai Frutti di Mare. Arguably, the best pasta dish I've ever had.

Make sure you hit the Mercato Bellaro if you are in Palermo. You have to have the Stigghiola. It is intestines that they marinate overnight in 5 gallon buckets and then grilled over hot coals. They also grill octopus at the same stalls. If you like bone marrow over toast points you'll love the Stigghiola. Before you do, grab a loaf of fresh bread to eat with it.
Also the braised spleen sandwiches served on a crusty roll are served at other stalls. Go hungry. You won't leave that way.
What if he had enough guts and spleen on the Syd thread?

Wow, very cool wedding photos! My wife has had a wedding planning business for many years, but I've never seen some of these types of pics. I really dig the groom + groomsmen one where the groomsmen are looking off but Nagao is facing the cam.

And the bar top pic I was at first like wtf are they doing? You hardly ever see pics of folks on a bar that you would call 'classy,' but they did nail this! It's a wholly different view of the wedding dress, it shows her modern choice of footwear, the black & white gives the bar an old timey, classic feel, and they still pull off looking very sweetly at each other & deeply connected despite their unique location. Well done!

Go to the FREE McAndrew Board, there is a thread for everything. This used to be a wrestling board
I order to address the same issue that was occurring on the Rivals wrestling board a couple years ago, the mod there began moving posts that were off topic to other "OT" dedicated threads. Users could still talk about whatever they wanted to (within the confines of the Rules), but legit wrestling threads were no longer bogged down by off-topic posts. If you didn't want to read OT posts, then you didn't read the OT thread. But at the same time, it encouraged a sense of open communications where we had those dedicated OT threads for our wrestling user community members to discuss everything from San Diego to Cycling. The concept worked well, imo, because the wrestling threads remained wrestling threads. It just required some work on the part of the mods to move posts to relevant threads or create a newly dedicated thread for a particular topic.

One of the great appeals of the old board was that we discussed tons of topics, and shared tons of personal experiences, without the football crazies and other riff-raff.

Though a "hot chicks thread" is probably best left to the crazies.

This bolded part is certainly charitable to 'the mod' (you, backdrft?), but I'm not sure "worked well" applies to the posters' User Experience.

The constant moving of user posts was plenty disruptive & repeatedly removed or edited context that was available when posters posted, but was absent after mod movement.

As to whether the actions added value for posters & readers or subtracted it, I vote the latter, but I'd be curious to read what fellow posters & readers think.

I don't mind an off topic reference to a running joke in a wrestling thread. As long as it stops there and doesn't evolve into it's own mini thread. Probably not necessary to move. And I really enjoy our off topic threads. Big reason I moved over. And I learned a lot. Like how Bacon triggers @82bordeaux . And @mcpat loves White Claws. I won't go into someones basement. Strictly vanilla wrestling chatter is not for me.
And the concert updates were awesome. Okay. I'm done ranting.

I see both sides of it. And realistically, moving the posts probably makes the most sense. I enjoy reading pages or wrestling news and cooking/food choices equally. Pages of food (or any other off topic) posts are annoying in a thread about recruiting (or any other titled thread).

Anyone care to condense this? Even on a lazy offseason summer day 1+ hours for a podcast is not gonna happen. 🥱 🤷

This kinda request is THE use case for AI to me. Here's Google's Gemini recapping it:

The BEG Wrestling podcast, hosted by Zach with guests Cornell Kevin and Dom Zakonei, discusses several major issues in the wrestling world.

Key Discussion Points:

  • Apology and Future Shows
    • Zach apologizes for the two-week hiatus and announces that the show will return to a full-time schedule with multiple episodes per week [00:43].
  • Claw Wrestling Draft
    • The upcoming Claw Wrestling Draft, scheduled for less than three weeks away in Atlantic City, is highlighted as an exciting new experience in professional wrestling [01:44]. It will feature six teams, over 200 entries, and 20 D1 All-Americans [02:06].
  • Ben Askren's Health Update
    • Ben Askren successfully underwent a double lung transplant surgery, which is described as incredible news [02:51]. However, his insurance did not cover the procedure, and he faces a recovery period of at least a year, with challenges like avoiding infections [03:06].
  • Carter Starocci Allegations
    • The hosts delve into an article from the Daily Collegian detailing alleged misconduct by Carter Starocci [04:53].
      • Summary of Allegations: Bo Bartlett's girlfriend was informed by another girl that Starocci allegedly cheated on his girlfriend and "raped her twice" [05:39]. This led to Starocci's girlfriend breaking up with him, and in retaliation, Starocci allegedly stole a watch from Bo Bartlett [06:14]. The incident was reportedly caught on video, and Bo reported it to the police after discussing it with Kale Sanderson, but nothing came of the investigation [06:35].
      • Further Allegations: The article also claims Starocci took naked pictures of teammates and shared them on Snapchat, and would "grab their testicles and stick his finger like up their buttholes in practice" [07:55].
      • Current Status: Starocci is reportedly out of the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club, and Bo Bartlett has officially moved to the New York City Regional Training Center [08:14].
      • Discussion: The hosts express concern over the silence from Starocci and Penn State, noting that "silence speaks volumes" [12:02]. They discuss the implications of Starocci's past behavior and the potential impact on the Penn State program [17:37].
  • Bo Bassett's Departure from Iowa
    • Bo Bassett left the Iowa wrestling program, stating it was for a "better situation" [35:32].
    • Financial Implications: Kevin suggests Bassett may have lost out on a $5 million NIL deal by not signing with Iowa, as new rules mean his value will now be determined by a third party [36:09].
    • Reasons for Departure: It's revealed that Bassett's family wanted him to be flown to the RTC for practice, which is illegal due to the 250-mile radius rule [38:05]. The hosts discuss the perceived lack of respect from Bassett towards Iowa and vice versa, and the role of egos in the situation [40:58].
    • Potential Destinations: Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Penn State are mentioned as possible new homes for Bassett [43:08].
  • Aaron Brooks' Suspension
    • Aaron Brooks was suspended after testing positive for a banned substance, which he claims was from something bought at Walgreens after double pneumonia [48:00].
    • Host's Reaction: Zach expresses disappointment, emphasizing that as a professional and Olympic athlete, Brooks should be more careful and that there are "no excuses" for such a mistake, especially given a prior slip-up [49:01].
  • Gabe Arnold's Dismissal from Iowa
    • Gabe Arnold was officially dismissed from the Iowa wrestling program [55:12].
    • Reasons: While details are hearsay, it's suggested that his dismissal was due to personal and mental issues, including missing a camp because he was on vacation [56:06]. Tom Brands is described as running a "no-nonsense program" [56:34].
  • Transfer Portal Impact
    • The hosts discuss the significant impact of the transfer portal on smaller wrestling teams, noting that many schools like Chattanooga, Oklahoma, and Drexel have gained numerous transfers, leading to more competitive dual meets and increased parity in the NCAA tournament [01:01:01].
    • Roster Limits: Kevin clarifies that wrestlers already on an NCAA roster or signed are grandfathered in and do not count against new roster limits, which will take years to fully implement [01:06:09].
The episode concludes with a call-in from "Wayne," who discusses the new third-party NIL valuation system and its potential to level the playing field in college wrestling [01:03:59].

This is great advice if you are in the podcasting business. Not so great if you are in the legal advice business.

Although he could be implying the the accusations do not deserve acknowledgement, but I do not think so.

I think the topic organization was an overall plus. But maybe it could've been less frequent, say weekly? Sometimes it seemed like a Rapid Reaction Team.

I see 3 primary segments of people here, though obviously there are more (but who needs to talk about Iowas fans even more?).
  1. There are diehards that come here daily+ for the sense of community we have and to joke and bond over the crazy wrestling world we all know so much about that we have our own language for it, plus a strong set of mores and rules for how that is conducted.
  2. There are wrestling-curious folks who are attracted to the Cael Sanderson Juggernaut because #winning. If they even post (my guess is the majority didn’t even have an account on Rivals—though isn’t one required to even read this forum? That’s a major difference, IMO) these are the types that note the falling sky every time one of our guys does t get a pin at NCAAs and blindly predict 60-0 vs Iowa and are mad when that doesn’t happen. These are also typically, but not always, the segment that gets negative attention from the larger wrestling community/media.
  3. There are old school guys that were here before it was popular and just want to talk brackets, RPI, and such.
Heavy post moderation serves 2 & 3, but 1 less so. To me, I’d espouse the adage “everything in moderation,” even in this case when it comes to moderation itself.

"Moderate moderately" I believe Cicero once said about The Internet lmao.

I be in Palermo 4 days. I plan to eat my way through the city!!! Thanks for the tips!!!

That's why I like the basic idea in El Jefe's post so much. If the moderator waits, say, three or four days before moving posts to the off-topic repository, then the guy who logs in every day will still get to "enjoy" the nonsense, but the guy who logs in every week or so to binge read in batch mode would not have to wade through as much off-topic stuff. The off-topic stuff is fun in a small amount in real time, but is not so fun when binge reading in batch mode.
