Yep, I switched to plastic years ago and just pay my balance off every month - zero interest and I collect 2.5% in rewards.
I don't understand this rewards thing. Why don't ya give me the best price ya can up front? Most would love ya for that.

AGAIN, I ASK: Why the hoarding of TP?

It's basically the credit card company subsidizing the rewards from merchant fees...might as well collect the max amount.

Costco Citi card is decent - 2% back from Costco plus 2% back from CitiBank - more for certain purchase like gas and travel.

Membership cost $105 year - I got twice that back from Costco and 3x from Citi

CatPhight, you are one of the best posters here.
I enjoy reading your posts but spending a hundred dollars to get 10 cents doesn't excite me. The rewards programs are bait programs to give other people your money.
Rewards programs are trolls for your money.

Most of the people I know who are talking about stocking up and buying all they can, are the type who are more excited about others not having something than just having their needs met.

If you're going to spend it anyway (I rarely have cash) why would I not use the best terms?

I never carry a balance after my annual fee, I'm around $500 annually in cash back.

Right - why not get a small discount on everything you buy? Just be disciplined and don't spend more than you can pay off each month and it's free money. If you have good credit, open up a new card once a year or so as well and get the $150 sign up bonus. I need to go ahead and get me a new one, then pay the year's car insurance bill on it to meet the spending target.

Supposedly Dr. Oz went on his show last week and had toilet paper as one of his must haves. So that's one contributor to the hoarding I think.
