I know most of you are young whippersnappers without families, without children, but I'm about to speak to you as a man of experience and I encourage you to listen to me and to believe what I have to say because I've been through it all. I got married twenty four years ago and I worked in Jackson as a real estate agent for a company I don't care to mention. Two years later I was blessed with a wonderful boy and three years after that with a beautiful baby girl. They loved coming with me to watch me sell houses. It was their favorite thing in the world to do. Life was good.
Well, my company soon unjustly let me go due to "professionalism" issues. I was forced to take a job as a waiter at a local chain restaurant. My children were devestated. Pretty soon I recognized aggressive behavior in my son. I asked him why he was behaving aggressively in my presence and in my wife's presence and he responded "Dude I don't respect you or your work." This saddened me and I explained to him what happened but he didn't understand. It was too late. My wife soon left me and I haven't heard from her in fifteen years. Thanks to my daughter I've been a proud grandparent for twelve years. But let me explain. I've made the best of my life, but my children's lives were adversely effected by my job removal. We are ok but things could have been happier! I have not seen my son in a long time.
I do not want these specific events to happen to Rick! He's a family man and I know what family must mean to him! His boys and wife love Mississippi State and who are we to say that this great institution is not the glue that holds that family together. I don't want to hear about those boys on the news at night. No sir. They deserve better. Rick has taken us to some NCAA tournament appearances and that's more than I could hope for. Now it's time to do our part. Let's let these guys have a family, the type of family that they deserve. If you fire Rick you are firing a Family. I know you boys are drinking at bars and looking at lustful women but try to remember that. Believe it or not, families do matter.
