Day 1 of the NCAA Women's Tournament is complete.

16 games. 16 higher seeds win. Feel the excitement. The drama.

Of course, that will likely be 31 of 32 higher seeds after tomorrow. Mississippi State is the higher seed, after all.

and how unless you are hosting Tennessee or Connecticut, its almost a guarantee that you lose money with all of the NCAA's demands ($10,000 for the blue carpet)

Los Angeles hosted the first two rounds last year. First round attendance: 989. Second round attendance 620.

I've heard that the best way to get Men's Final Four tickets is to sign up for women's Final Four tickets as well. I have nothing against women playing sports, but this tournament is a formality. 16 higher seeds win on day one, with 7s beating 10s by 30 points. Connecticut will not even get competition in this tournament, they've won 72 straight games BY DOUBLE DIGITS. Its incredible in one sense, then you think, it's women's basketball.

The talent disparity in women's basketball makes it much easier to rank the teams over each other. Women's basketball may very well be the only sport in the world where the regular season is more exciting than the postseason. Well, that and college football.

Vermont knocked off Wisconsin-Madison to become the first lower seed to advance. So an overrated 7-seed from a power conference lost to an underrated 10-seeded "mid-major." This does not bode well.
