Do we have turf at home plate??? Guys scratching around and then tapping their cleats with the bat because ever since T-ball, there’s been real dirt there. Even the catcher smears it around occasionally, only to remember, it’s fake. Was that an IB thing?? Don’t get it, esp at MSU, bring back the terra firma.

I’ve wondered this too. My only guess is shade from the grandstand made it difficult to maintain the grass… or maybe it’s cheaper to maintain. Either way, it looks terrible
