Wichita had an interim coach this season. Eric Wedge had resigned in October due to health reasons.
He was the AAC coach of the year
They were really good in the 80s & 90s, but havent been back to Omaha since '96 and havent made the Supers since '08

Shocker alum who was on its '82 CWS team and was an assistant there before coaching and retiring from Charlotte in 2019.
He likely wasn't seen as a long-term successor either.
Kendall Rogers says there's a leading candidate but he's not been mentioned yet...
Somebody, quick, tell our pitching staff there are multiple openings there and see if any of their guys can pitch! They were 30-25 this season

They'll never get a coach as good as Gene Stephenson nor one that delivered their only CWS Championship in 1989.
