He would be better than we have now if Frost said no. And I'll root for him to succeed until he doesn't. It's time for us fans to do some examining as well.

Damn you. Stop raining on my hopes!
Seriously... what are you hearing?
When Damon Benning starts dropping alternative names and Davison says something about the kind of offense we could be running next year and it doesn't sound like Frost's.......I'm probably just reading too much in to it. We'll see.

Ok. Thanks. Benning's speculations are more worrisome than Davison's. Because Frost might be forced to run a certain kind of offense that isn't his first choice, based on the kinds of QB's we have

Doesn't having to use a QB that might not fit your offense happen all the time with new hires? Why couldn't he go out and get a JUCO? Just a thought.

If Frost comes here and wants to implement his offense right away he may have to get a juco. But that is easier said than done. He might also try and flip someone else's recruit. But that would be a true freshman. Probably couldn't start right away. Better in my view to try and see if POB and/or Gebbia have the mobility to implement at least some of the offense. Who knows?

If Moos values his home, and doesn't want to see it burned to the ground by a rabid fanbase, he had better not make a ridiculous hire like that. I would honestly fear for his safety if he did something so half-baked.
Is the fan base rabid really you still think that

Your view has been tainted by the quality of our coaches, freshman QB's start all over the country and do well.

I would agree, the boosters and fan support has diminished significantly over that past 3 years

Another misstep or experiment with this hirecan't be made

It is for that reason I'm not sold on Frost

It may be the hire we need but a one year run at a non power 5 school in Florida doesn't get me all that excited
I don’t know if Utah was a “power 5” at the time but it produced Urban Meyer and that did OK for Florida. Jim Tressel worked out ok for Ohio State.

These programs saw talent and pursued aggressively.

I am glad Nebraska is pursuing aggressively here.

I also don’t think the fact that Moos complimented him, indicated he plans to go after him.

Moos has a "type" of target coach he might be pursuing, I think it is encouraging, to look for a young coaching talent willing and ready to put out the dumpster fire and try and rebuild a new culture at Nebraska.

If Frost declines, will probably be a tough task to find this guy, ready and willing for the challenge.

Most will elect to stay put, if they are Power 5 already, than head to Lincoln. That is just my gut reaction to the product on the field currently, and the uphill challenge that awaits.

Frost can run his offense with POB, Gebbia or Bunch. Gebbia moves really well. He's not a burner but you don't have to be a take it to the house guy to run zone read spread. POB reminds me of Frost with his size and his type of athleticism. He's a big kid. Probably not as fast as Frost was but he could run it. He would need to be coached up on how to take a hit and deliver punishment when need be but he could run it.

Agree and disagree. All new jobs come with challenges and Florida, Tennessee, etc are playing terrible too. I agree it would be a challenge to get guys like Wilcox or Fuente to leave pretty good gigs to come here. But I think guys like Frost, Campbell, Norvell and Morris would jump.

HC, Florida and TN 2 pretty good Power 5 jobs opening up.

Good recruiting destinations, excellent fan support, etc.

Nebraska same but personnel/culture upgrade even tougher and recruiting challenges as flyover state.
