Sadly we went to OT... had to score the final 20 points of the game and block 2 FG's to get it done.

Stagg is going to crush us :(

We just had to come from behind to win in OT against a team that Immaculate Conception killed. I don't think we can call it sandbagging...

You really think The Brook is in for some trouble vs Stagg?

Maybe GBW not as good as everyone was touting? Based on the "who played who at what score and who beat who of those we beat or played tough".?

IC looks to be the real deal and one of the top "smaller class" schools

Yes. Stagg will kill us if we play how we did last night. As for GBW if teams keep trying to run against them then they will be in every game. Teams like BR or ESL I think may beat them.

Maybe GBN as well. They can throw. I like their QB and Jace James is a beast.

Add GBW Hins South 0-0 in the 4th qtr, GBW hangs on 14-6. Wasn't at the game but was shocked when I got the text updates. @capnbillhitters were you there?

It was a very weird night much like the Addison Trail game in 2011 when we were favored by 4 TDs at AT and they played the game of their lives keeping it 0-0 entering the 4th.

Game started with an amazing onside kick that HS recovered and we just played stunned. HS probably gained 100 yards between the 40's and GW made a ton of huge stops but dropped passes penalties and a very fired up HS D kept GW out of their comfort zone and off the score board.

With GW up 7-0 and on the doorstep for 14-0, bad exchange b/w QB & C and a 96 yard fumble return and it was 7-6. GW LB Samuta made another huge play by blocking the EP. GW made drove the field and sealed it but HS showed a ton of heart. They have a QB with a ton of guts but was a little careless a couple of times on TOs.

HS played much better than Week 1. They will be really tough on rest of WSG but not sure they will run the table.

I think you may have had a slanted read on the running defense for GW. First, the Brook line was massive. Second, GW softened the LBs once they had a somewhat comfortable lead. We will see at HC because last year they flipped the script and committed to the run and really took it to us. Of course that line averaged 285 and had 3-4 next level guys.

What really worries me most is a team that has a big o line, a credible set of backs and a QB that can really do damage once he breaks contain. Maybe that is OPRF this year. Maybe it is HC. But if a team wants to say "strap it up we are going to run it right at you," I am fine with that.

Loyola looks like they have the right balance and so does MS. Not sure we can handle a shoot out like Libertyville this year.

Wow, 2 years of GREAT games between Glenbard West & Hinsdale South. I'm sure South is glad to be done with them, pretty sure they have Lyons the next 2 years. Who do you guys have?

Not going to lie, I didn't go to the game because I thought GBW would win by like 4 TD's based on what I saw against Prospect last week. I went to York vs Leyden instead.

South might be one of those teams this year that plays to the level of their competition, whether it be great or bad...only time will tell. It also looks like Glenbard West is going to be like the 2001 Ravens, DOMINATE on defense and don't screw it up on offense (meaning, don't turn the ball over).

GBW with back to back slug fests, you guys will have another one this week against York. They'll smack you on defense, you guys should win but expect another slugfest for the 3rd consecutive week.

Nice win and good luck the rest of the year.

Thats what I am saying. I like you guys chances if teams want to play smash mouth... The teams with dynamic WR's I think would give you trouble...
