He wasn't always the player he is now. There is no reason to not believe someone currently on this roster can become that player. Lamar was a JUCO player who is described as a player who polished up his game. Well if a JUCO player can do that, there is no reason to think that someone who started with a higher floor can't do the same.

I really don't know enough about the remaining guys to offer up an opinion. However, I will say that it will be hard to find a starter quality player who will be willing to come off the bench. I want someone who understands his assignment and is willing to do it. Someone who isn't looking to consume all of the oxygen.

Kinda my thoughts too. Here's how I look at it . . . two weeks ago I'd never heard of this guy so for that reason alone I'm not gonna get all worked up about it. Then think about the step up Chandler made late in the year and project that forward to a confident Sophomore year . . . is is this guy that I'd never heard of before really gonna be that much better than Colin next year? I see it as a blessing for Colin to come in not next year now.

You will never catch any fish if you don't cast the net. I sure that Lamar and Yates are just two of the players Pope is looking at. It is as critical to get a good fit for the team as getting someone who score. If you get a great scorer but he is selfish, it could negatively impact the other players. A player who states he doesn't want to become just another Kentucky player doesn't sound very much like a team player which could also be the reason Pope didn't pay him what he wanted. Yes, I said pay him what he wanted. I am certain that if Pope offered more money, Lamar would be at UK.

Once Colin got over his jitters and played without fear at the end of the year, he shot over 50%. And he's a better athlete and defender that this guy from what I've seen.

I agree 100% and he didn't come off as likeable whatsoever. Seemed like a guy who would pout if he didn't get a ton of shots per game. Same mentality as Yates and Pierre. They all signed with mediocre programs to be the man and not have any pressure.

Why would you post such a thing? I think he did us a favor by not coming. In his case, I think high volume scorer means a me first type count guy who doesn't work well with a team as talented as UK. We need players who are willing to share court time.

I think so. What I am looking at states that he averaged 1.1 his first season and 5.2 his second season. OH, I missed it. His average jumped to about 14 his following season. I am with you now.
