Will Allen transfer?

He will, especially after Cal's comment today. I could see him ending up at someplace like Western or possibly Ohio State.

I believe he will transfer to a bigger school than Western, it's easy to forget this dude was a monster in HS who averaged 43ppg, it wouldn't surprise me to see him go to a top ten program and have a similar impact to Charles Matthews.

Wouldn’t blame him. Cal always claimed the bench is the best motivator, guess that doesn’t apply to 5 star players. Needs to bench Clarke or Boston and give Allen a ahot
Canada kid and allen could not be any worse maybe it would help them to ride the pine some

I must say, I find it kinda funny that you’re attributing that line to Cal. That “bench is best motivator” quote is a very old one that I believe originated with John Wooden in the 60s. I’ve heard many coaches say it over the years (I even recall my HS coach saying it in the 80s), but Cal is NOT one of them.

And, honestly, it actually kinda represents the OPPOSITE coaching approach as Cal’s, given that Cal’s become known as a coach unusually reluctant to bench his big names/recruits, even when they’re playing like crap.

Maybe Cal has said it, but he’s never really acted like he believes it.

No, why would any freshman... particularly a Kentucky boy... transfer 6 games in to your freshman year.. this is what’s killing us... players have to have a little more grit than that.. the whole country has gone crazy
Apparently it doesn’t matter how much grit he has. We have to give Clarke and Boston the opportunity to miss 500 shots before he can play.

Simple. Cal will recruit another 5 star golden child for next year and Allen will be stapled to the bench again. It’s just reality boyo

Calipari straight spit in his eye. A typical winning coach wouldn’t say something like that without it being a motivation tool. Cal will never use him in the future and admitted it tonight. He knows the fans want Allen. It’s not going to happen based on that alone imo.

Allen should transfer to a school and make it his mission to make calipari’s life hell. I know that would suck for UK, but I’m for anything that moves Cal out of here quickly.

Allen has worked so hard post two surgeries. Home state kid who always dreamed of playing for UK.
Feel so bad for him.
Cal is so stubborn it’s almost like he’s giving the fans the middle finger and the more we ask the more he declines.
We can’t win it this year. No chance.
Use it as a transitional year to play all these freshmen to keep morale up get them experience to make a run next season.

No way would he be any worse than Boston or Clarke at this point. I’ve been a huge supporter of Clarke and Allen alike, but it’s time to give Allen some run. Let ALLEN play through some mistakes, Cal. Lord knows, Boston and Clarke have made MANY mistakes this season already.

Cal has never believed for a second the bench is the best motivator. Cal teaches antithetical principles to traditional methods. He thinks he’s above the common ideas of team concepts. Sounds an awful lot like modern NBA talk.

Cal has actually said it before though, in his defense. I laughed then and I laugh now. Calipari is a suit that prosti**** this program to long players with NBA potential. The bench is thelast thing he’ll use unless he’s super pissed off.

Because Cal literally said that the guys in front of him need room to miss shots without fear of being pulled out. Do you know what that means?

that’s the bottom line . Fans want him , Cal despises fans who think they know more than him( ego) therefore he’s hopelessly and very unjustly buried . Cal is being a prick about this. Same way with Willis , only played him at first because he absolutely had to . Then Derek succeeded well enough Cal had to play him . IMO he didn’t want to .

He's a freshman, and coming off a bad injury, but if he does I wouldn't blame him. But if he stays it would be awesome. I hope he stays really

Remember a guy named Joe B. benching 4/5 starters at once in an ncaa tourney game.

IMO shooters are at a premium in college basketball - most of these kids are not good shooters any more- if you watch Iowa, who was ranked # 3 they have a bunch of shooters who play with Garza and their offense looks good- they came back against Gonzaga because they can shoot the ball

Iowa is the polar opposite of a Cal recruit team. All shooters but no defenders.

They are a real fun team to watch, but I think their defensive shortcomings will get them in the tourney.

Transfer to UT or UF and bomb 3’s
This is what I would do if I was him and I continue to see 2 min a game on a floundering team.

Some ppl will say he should stick it out but he’s best case scenario is getting <15 min a game as a senior bc there will always be some 5 star freshman’s cal has to give a chance to first. Same way Willis was treated.

UT, UF, Vandy, Missouri, Cincinnati/OSU if out of conference.

Behind 39-32 at halftime; Hall started Freddie Cowan, Lavon Williams and Dwayne Casey the second half. Starters got the message and ended up winning 85-76.
Yep. I re-watched that game not long ago.

The game’s real hero was Macy. He was the only starter that didn’t get benched, and he really stepped up and took control when the other four were out.

In case you haven’t noticed, this isn’t 30 years ago. Kids today aren’t gonna be content with sitting around for 2 or 3 years not playing, and hopefully getting shot one day. These guys wanna play, and i can’t say that i blame them. Especially as they see the guys in front of them stink up the joint with no repercussions.

Cal literally told Allen that he is to be on the bench because his 5 stars have to be allowed to keep missing shots, till they don't miss so many. Allen should transfer, who wants to stay where he is not even wanted. Just another way Cal throws those digs at the fan base.

He will probably transfer, score 20 pts for his new team and then everyone will say he would have been an all American at Uk.

Florida State was in the Metro at the time and I don't even think they were a ranked team, however, they shot the ball very well the entire game. I remember LaVon Williams (I think) with a big time put back that kind of sparked things in the second half.
