None drafted through rounds 1-3. Have to think Forrest and Lewis have the best shots of being drafted, guess we will see...

I see Lewis as a late round guy. He can make it in the league, but injuries scare off the pro scouts.

I don't see Forrest being drafted. He tanked it in the bench press; worst of any LB.

I think Forrest could be a WS linebacker or a SS. He has speed just not big or strong enough to play MLB

UKs guys were never going above Round 6, especially after Lewis was hurt. Forrest and Johnson could sneak into the 7th Round but they, along with Hugenin, Lewis, Stamps and Swindle will likely have to settle for FA contracts. Lewis has the best chance to stick if healthy.

I remember looking this up during last year's draft, and IIRC UK has had at least one player drafted every year beginning with the 2006 draft. There is a link on NFL.com that allows you to look up the NFL draft history, and you sort by year, by school, by NFL team, etc.

Anyway, for the sake of the "streak" if nothing else, I would definitely like to see a UK player get his name called. I think Lewis, Johnson, and Forrest (in that order) have a chance to get drafted today. We'll see.

One little item about draft streaks that really pisses me off. Last year was the first time in like 30 years that UT had no one drafted. While they have a couple of guys who are borderline for this draft, if they go undrafted it would be the first time EVER they've gone 2 years in a row without having at least one guy drafted. Pisses me off their program could be so down yet ours was allowed to be even worse. Hope this crap changes in my lifetime.

Thru Round 5 Pick 9 (Overall Pick 148). No UK players have been chosen. Only SEC teams without a draft pick so far are UK, Vandy and UT.

Pointed out above earlier today that it's unlikely any UK player goes above Round 6 if then. UK's best shot at a draftee is Melvin Lewis and he's recovering from a serious injury. More than likely 5 or so UK players will get FA contracts.

This is not a strong program right now, what potential pro talent they do have is in the under classes.

Josh Forrest combine:
40 yd. dash: 4.9
Bench: 11 reps
Vertical: 30.5 in

AJ Stamps combine:
40 yd. dash: 4.8
Bench: 15 reps
Vertical: 33 in.

Those are particularly awful workout numbers for both guys. Forrest was productive for us but neither are real explosive athletes. Melvin Lewis maybe has an outside shot but now has injury questions and wasn't an explosive player either.

Edit: Josh Forrest just got picked up. Happy for him.

I will be pleasantly surprised if any UK player gets drafted.
Well, I am officially pleasantly surprised! Great for Josh! He didn't exactly tear it up on the pre-draft workout circuit, but hopefully he'll make the opening day roster.
