Early mock drafts have Cox in the high 2nd - Banks low 2nd.... it depends if they think they can improve their stock. I think they will both be back....
Philadelphia Eagles: Fletcher Cox, DE/DT, Mississippi State

Mike Patterson isn't a particularly effective player, so the Eagles
could use some help at defensive tackle. The rising Fletcher Cox seems
like a perfect fit for Jim Washburn's system.

Green Bay Packers: Johnathan Banks, CB, Mississippi State

Green Bay's defensive backfield has been a mess this season.
Reinforcements are needed, and Johnathan Banks happens to be one of the
top players available.

Cox being from a very poor area growing up has stressed the importance of him getting his degree first. He'll be back. Unless something happens in tomorrow's game and *potentially* a bowl game that makes him a top 10 pick, he's not going anywhere.

For Banks, who has said several times going to college wasn't all too important to him (wanting to be a Highway Patrolman) and has said he almost quit several times... I'd expect him to jump at the thought of being a 2nd round draft pick to the Green Bay Packers.

If Banks goes, good for him. I'll miss having him next season, and we're really going to need him... but I can't be mad at someone doing what's the best for their future. Nothing guarantees he'll be a 2nd round draft pick or better after next season.

That being said, Johnathan, PLEASE come back.

Smoot or Banks?...

He has said that he wants to stay in school and finish out his four years. I am not so sure about Banks, I have heard that he is entertaining the idea of going to the league after this season. We are also looking at a few juco cbs now.

Hopefully we will have both back next year. We will need them for sure.

I don't think Jamerson Love is ready yet, Broomfield has had a quiet year, and Slay will be a senior next year. Add Banks leaving early and we are going to need some bodies at CB.IfWill Redmond can come in and work his tail off, I think he has a legit chance of playing as a true freshman.
