Moving to a 4-2-5 ...Chambliss and Shavers starters.....Merritt and Hawthrone back ups/spot duty.....Rogers and Bower insurance.....not bad....Hopefully Shavers wont have a club on his hand most of the year next year....i think its a great upgrade over the 2025 LB room

Our DT room need changes a little if our base front is 4 down linemen. A stud DT would help but those guys are few in the portal.
Trueeee. Our needs are the exact ones you can't have in this era of College football. QB market is so over saturated. Imagine if our only real need was DB/QB/WR we would be so ready for this. We can't even get the fundamentals right.

In a 4-2-5, NU has Nwaneri, Cam L and Kade P at DE, with RVP, Moore and Hoffken at DT. Sua was playing in the bowl game. I thought I read they were looking for a rush end. I’ve heard nothing about DT.

I think Nwaneri and Kade P are locked in as DE starters. I'd like to get a pass rusher from the portal. RVP and Moore might battle it out for a DT spot, and which I think they are much better suited for than NT, but I'd like to get a portal guy for the other starting DT spot. I'm not sure why there's rumors of us going after a 350 lb guy if we no longer plan on going 3-4? Shrug.

Other than Nash, I don’t remember us having many DTs much over 300. Valentine might be the last. Dudes just need to be 285 plus and strong in a 4 man front.

I do like size on the D-line, but 350 is too much for a 4-3 unless it's very situational. I don't see how it fits.

Short yardage run stopper maybe. We do have some young guys on the roster who we might not be giving enough credit.

Damion Daniels was a large man. VV was listed at 320, Collins 300. Davis twins were listed at 320 and 325 their Senior year.

Do we have a Dline coach yet?
That would help... even if you're throwing money at dudes, who's going to come not knowing who's going to be coaching them? I wouldn't let my kid go without that answered

I don’t believe the Davis twins played at that weight. Great college players.

Crick was listed at 285 as a DT, but he was a bit of a mutant in terms of quickness for the position.
My biggest problem was Crick is sometimes he was too fast. I remember I think in 2011 several times he would be bearing down on a qb and the qb would sidestep him and Crick would go flying off screen.
