Will Johnson's comments spark an NCAA probe of Ole Miss?

Got this going on the Rivals football board. It's simply amazing how some of these rebel fans try to respond. They can't argue any point intelligently, so spend all their time just throwing bombs & personal insults.<div>
</div><div>And these dumb-dumbs still post that MSU is in trouble because we offered Cecil money, then turned him in in an act of rage because he didn't accept our offer. They actually believe we would lay waste to our football program by telling the SEC & NCAA that Cecil refused our money, just so we could "get even" with him. It's dumbfounding really.</div><div>
</div><div>Anyway, I invite you all to come over the the board & join in. I've even got some fans of other schools chiming in. Not many MSU folks on the board, so come help me represent some time.</div><div>
</div><div>Here's the original post:</div><div>
</div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">CJ Johnson was a 5-star recruit that had been committed to Mississippi State for a very long time until he shocked everyone by switching to Ole Miss near signing day.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">Some of you may recall the brohaha over his Facebook, where apparently some MSU fan claimed to know his mother got a job cleaning the house of an Ole Miss booster for $100k. CJ got all indignant and posted on his facebook that it wasn't true, and that if it were true, he wouldn't be driving the old truck he was driving, he'd have something new.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">Here's where it gets interesting. After that, he was called out for driving a Range Rover. To this he responded that the RR wasn't his, rather a friend's that he was borrowing.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">Fast forward to his Twitter page from his first day at Ole Miss. He posted a pic of his brand new Z71 saying, "New truck, new me". When a buddy of his posted a reply asking what happened to the Range Rover, he said, "The Rover had too many miles, had to trade it in on something fresh".</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">Hmmm. Obviously we all know what's going on, but the question I have is does the NCAA pay attention to stuff like this and can it spark an investigation? They can't monitor his twitter page anymore because Ole Miss finally forced the kid to shut it down.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">
</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: small; ">As an MSU alum, I was really stung when we lost him to Ole Miss. But now, I'm counting my blessings as this kid seems like he could be a one-way-ticket to probationville.</span></div>

it appears to me that the conferences and the NCAA changed their approach to enforcement. I don`t know if the school presidents changed the NCAA`s mandate or what but something has changed.

To answer your question about Johnson. NO.

if CJ had come here. To say otherwise is ridiculous. Chances are, we would have had to deal with the same CJ saying the same thug-like crap on twitter.

I am not defending CJ or the Bears, I am just saying that we are dealing with an 18 year old kid that has become pretty full of himself. I think that a certain group of State fans are trying to make it look as if we are somehow better than the Bears because we did not sign such a thug. That is ********, we would have been thrilled if we signed him.

He is an 18 year old kid and my experience with 18 year old kids is that they are all idiots, including myself when I was 18.

I am not sure what State fans win by going to an Ole Miss website and arguing anything about CJ.

As long as he gets his head right, we are going to have to play against him for a good while and he is a fantastic athlete.

My suggestion would be for us to let CJ dig his own grave and for State fans to sit back and watch it happen. Trying to suggest the NCAA needs to get involved or anything along those lines makes us look like whiny bitches because we didn't get him.

Unless, for some reason, some larger media entity decides to run with it. The standard that big media exposure forces the action of the NCAA, still seems to hold true. The NCAA won't act otherwise, unless an agenda exists by a higher authority (meaning higher revenue source, in the mind of the cash-flow centered NCAA).

of being no-nonsense. Do I think we've always been a clean program? No. Do I think Mullen is sincerely working hard to run a clean program? Yes, I do, and I think it goes all the way to the top with Stricklin and our president. I think it has a little to do with how we lose some of the higher-rated recruits to Ole Miss.<div>
</div><div>Also, keep in mind I am not going on any Ole Miss boards to do this. It is the generic, main football board on Rivals. Also, I think it's a legit question.</div><div>
</div><div>As I said in my first post, I, too was stung when we lost him, but am really glad, at this point, that we did. TO is a guy who had all the talent in the world, but consider what a cancer he has become to pretty much every team he's joined.</div><div>
</div><div>As far as being young, yes, I was an equally young freshman at State once upon a time, and surely I did some foolish things, as did my friends, but I can honestly say that NONE of us were anywhere close to that stupid. In fact, I can't even fathom any of us not being exceptionally discreet were we in such a situation. I think too many of us tend to discount how far along we were at 18 in our rush to excuse the appalling bad behavior & stupidity we see much too often from student-athletes.</div><div>
</div><div>Finally, note that I didn't post CJ's remarks about white girls because, though appalling & no doubt embarrassing for Ole miss, they were not at all related to the legitimate question being posed.

Blacklistedbully says he "was" stung over this, but now he is happy MSU didn't get CJ.

No Blacklistedbully, you are still stung and unhappy that you didn't get him. If it were not so, you wouldn't still be posting about him on a Rivals board and then asking people on another board to come participate.

...But it doesn't do anyone any good trying to get another team on probation. Just let it go.

Truly funny how such a high % of you fools claim to know how an MSU fan "really feels". Guess you're so used to lying and manipulating that you think everybody must do it as easily as do you.<div>
</div><div>What I said is exactly what I meant. I really wanted CJ. But now that he's shown what an idiot he is, I'm truly glad he is not on our team. Given your comments, and those of 99% of Ole Miss fans I read, CJ is EXACTLY where he belongs.</div><div>
</div><div>For my part, I'll go on record now saying, despite how thin we are at LB, if Skinner is in fact guilty of domestic violence, I hope we kick his *** off the team without delay. I'd prefer a young man with good character, even is his skill level is a little less.</div>

The post I made is a topic of interest, particularly in light of what's been going on in college football lately. It was already in the mainstream. I am simply curious what fellow football fan's opinions are on whether this kind of stuff will catch the NCAA's eye.

Yes. It is me and every single OM fan who is delusional. Rational people seriously (not in jest) always stereotype fans of an entire fan base.

All of us TSUN "fools" are delusional. Well, at least 99% of us according to your post. And like you said, CJ fits in just perfectly with us delusional fools. By that same rationale, does Skinner fit right in with your fanbase? I don't believe that, but I'm trying to think like you.

You have it all figured out. I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your desperate plea for other posters to come to another message board and support your mission (and the post that you felt was so ground breaking that you'd bring it here) to shed light on the evil OM empire and its delusional fools as being "stung".

I guess you forgot about saying this..."<span style="font-style: italic;"> They can't argue any point intelligently, so spend all their time just throwing bombs & personal insults.</span>"

before you continue to make an *** of yourself. What I said is 99% of the posts I read on Rivals from Ole Miss fans are like that, and that is a fact! I've actually had a pretty good relationship with a few on there, but the vast majority on rivals are bomb-throwing, koolaid drinking a-holes. I know there are reasonable OM fans on this planet, hell I'm related to a few. I've seen a few on this board that are intellectually honest, even when they are homers. But these OM fans do not appear to spend any time on the Rivals main board, leaving it instead to the true morons.<div>
</div><div>As far as Skinner is concerned, I have already posted here that if he's guilty of domestic violence, I hope we kick his butt off the team immediately, despite how thin we are at LB. I've already said I'd rather have a less-skilled player with good character over such a player.</div>

Nothing to do with that **********. He will probably
End up being a good player but he is not the kind of
Person I want to be around or have my family
Around, he really is a Dick And he is exactly where
He needs to be.

gets done outside of guidelines to pursuade a player...but what the confeds did in the cj case was over the top and had we done the same, given similar circumstances, they'd have had a cow, started an investigation, and called the NCAA...especially after flashing the rover on the internet..

for some reason, we must not be in too good with the NCAA or something... I don't know...

one thing is for certain....ole miss can NOT compete with MSU on a level playing field.. not only do they cheat, they go way over the top.... they don't have much choice I guess

CJ seems to project as a good player but now he's the enemy, bottom line. TSUN organization is Teflon and has been for quite some time. Nothing will come of it and nothing to see here...move on. However, we all hope one day, just one day the NCAA decides to rise up and pop their cheating bear *** into oblivion.
