Agreed, but can you do that every game? I worry about injury then. We have to have players around him step up.

Holding back has worked so far because of weaker competition. I suppose the real question is when you cut him lose, as the games get harder.
You can't play football if you're worried about injuries.

You could see him in a couple of the plays against SC State where he had a pocket but got "happy feet" as I like to call it and decided to bail. Does not trust his O line.

Unless he improves as a passer, no need to even think about that. Extremely inaccurate.

Oh no, you said he needs to improve. I expect several posters to get very upset about that.

:)

(Long story....... )

David Pollack was quite high on Sellers in the offseason. After seeing our first 2 games, he has cooled considerably. Said Lanorris isn't a guy who is going to sit in the pocket and pick you apart.

He constantly air mails balls over the middle as if the receiver is 12 feet tall. That resulted in interceptions at times last year. I HOPE his ball security in the pocket has improved. I think he CAN be really good. A decent o line would solve 70% of offensive issues. Hard to stay out of long yardage otherwise.

I think it’s a little too early to tell. Everyone knows he can run, but I’d think he’d need to progress some as a passer before making that prediction

In HS, Sellers didn’t have to rely on his passing ability. He was the best athlete on the field. The first six games of his college career became a work in progress. His progression throughout the season was remarkable and I think that had a lot to do with Dowell Loggains. I’m not sold on Shula. Since he’s taken over as OC, Sellers looks like he’s regressed, as has the offense.
