Man they develop and use their tight ends. Would like Eddie Gran to study Petrinos tight end package for our guys. We have some talent in that spot which could be utilized. That option toss to the tend was a great call and he was open and targeted often.

Hikutini is a rs sr i believe. Conrad is a big weapon and as we open up the offense he will be targeted alot more

Hikutini yesterday was greatly aided by UK staying in zone coverage. He's a good one and barring injuries will be a high draft pick.

Exactly, with Jackson you have to cheat your linebackers up to cover the QB run. Jackson taking off is a much bigger threat than a TE catching a pass for 8-10 yards a pop. The whole defense has to be aware of what Jackson is doing all the time. The wide outs are the second biggest threat and the running backs and TE are the least of your worries if you play UL. You want to make him throw the ball or hand off to the RB on every down if possible.

Agree, but Hikutini was still the best player on lil bro's team.

Better than Jackson? Come on. Conrad could have made the catches Hikutini made on Saturday. He is good but not that good. He gets a lot of targets and is open because of Jackson's threat to run. The TE at Bama is a potential star but he doesn't get the ball enough to get attention.

Petrino did the same at WKU with Jack Doyle. Now with the Colts. Didn't have a running qb there. The system is what makes it. Think Gran should study it and add it to our arsenal unless our tight ends can't get open or maybe not as good. Those 2 are NFL players

I agree that he is a talent that they will never have again (and most will not see soon) however, I was talking about Saturday.

Purportedly, Gran said they were opening up the offense this past wknd. Conrad targeted just once that I recall.
I'll believe it when I see it. Definitely the lack of his involvement all year is a head-scratcher

So, "opening up the offense" only means throwing to the TE? Did you miss the passes out of the wildcat by Snell? The wildcat ran by multiple backs? The fake reverse out of the wildcat? The deep shots down the field that were mostly successful? I really don't think you know what "opening up the offense" means, else you watched the wrong game...
