Beamer another big raise? It will be interesting to see if any rumors start circulating about Arkansas wanting to hire Beamer.

I agree. They just fired a mediocre coach, they won't knowingly hire another one. It will be interesting to see who they go after.

From Shane's perspective, the Arkansas job is sort of a no win job for a coach. The state only has 3 million people, 1.5 million less than SC which is already a small state, population wise. The state is surrounded by bigger name football programs so recruiting isn't exactly a slam dunk. They have the Walmart and chicken money so they aren't poor but they aren't really any sort of destination football program.

Arkansas has always been one of the SEC teams I liked and pulled for, for whatever reason. It’s not a desirable job right now though. Like another poster said it is in the middle of a football powerhouse war zone and they just haven’t been as competitive as they once were.

If his agent is doing his job, I think he would try to leverage any major job opening. His success in doing so, however, is dependent on our AD's intelligence.

You are off by 1 million. SC's population is 5.5 million.
