Will Sidney's signing have a negative effect on Jarvis returning?

If Jarvis receives mostly positive feedback from the NBA pundits, do you think he will rationalize an early departure since Sidney might be able to step in and fill the void. Just thinkin'.

Teams will not be able to double him as much and make him more effective on offense. I also think his block total will go up as well. There were many times where JV didn't go for the block because he knew going for the block hurt our team because of offensive rebounds. If we play big, that will not be as big of a problem and will be able to go for the block more.

if we had a true 4 last year, Varnado could have had 30 more blocks.

But it would mostly be on the offensive side of the ball. Jarvis always got double teamed a lot and with the addition of Sidney that should no longer be the case. If Stans does what he is supposed to do, he will make Jarvis work on his passing game and we will get the chance at a lot of weak side layups for Sidney. Also, if Sidney comes in and does what we all think he is capable of doing, Jarvis will have a few more easy layups on the weak side. I do think that the addition of Sidney could give Jarvis a chance at a few more weak side blocks as well. They should both be able to put up double digit points every night, with Jarvis having to work a whole lot less then he had to last year to do so. All of this in turn should create a lot more open 3 point opportunities for our perimeter guys. This team could be nasty next year. 3 legit guys who can score down low including Kodi, with Elgin and Romero as solid backups, and Dee, Phil, Barry, Ravern, and Kodi again as guys who can score outside on a consistent basis. We could be a very dangerous squad next year.

Sidney would just make Jarvis look even better. Look what happened for Rhodes when Varnado became more of a scoring threat to play down low with him.

If Varnado is told he'll be a sure 1st round pick, he's gone, if he's told he'll go in the 2nd round he's coming back; regardless of whether Sidney is at MSU or not.

Assuming we get Sidney, could this be a team like LSU had years ago with Shaq and some other pretty good big guy, S. Roberts?....he also played pro for a few years....plus they had the tourettes guy? How did they not win it all? They won in spite of Dale Brown.

I recall at the start of last year's season Augustus did a great job passing at first, against crappy teams; then our perimeter guys went cold and Kodi tried to "create" more, ala Jamoney (might have been dicking off in practice too). Stans sat him.

Will we have the ability to hit the threes, and make quick passes to get teams out of the double and triple teams we will see down low? In other words, will we be well coached with an offensive plan, or might our players be so good, that it is simply good enough to rebound and play good D and let the chips fall?

Props to Stans for landing this kid if it comes through. This is by no means an accident. </p>

I have contacted the LA police and he is wandering around on the streets in L.A. I have also called Ole BLEW and Coach 34 and they have agreed to help me provide for him. Coach also said Fishwater would chip in too. Then we are going to get Bulldog Backer to write a book about how we saved this kid from the ghetto.
