She has alopecia. The fact that you think standing up for a loved one who is being mocked for their medical condition is "soft" says a great deal about you as a person.

He's actually the soft one. He hides behind his computer and is always harassing people. Total loser. Madison is not worth your time.

He may not have to say that he'll never host again.

Because after last night's slap debacle, the terrible ratings (it scored a 15.3, which made it the second-least-watched Oscars ever), and the ever-growing general disdain for Hollywood celebrities thanks to guys like Harvey Weinstein, James Franco, Bill Cosby, Les Moonvess, Kevin Spacey, Amber Heard, Jusse Smolett, Asia Argento, Philip Berk, Mel Gibson, Alec Baldwin, and so on -- I wouldn't be shocked if the Academy shut down the Oscars for a while to totally reformat it. I don't think that it'll happen, but I won't be shocked if it comes to pass.
I can't remember the last time I even watched it.

I've never watched any awards show, so I only heard about this a little while ago. Just watched the clip provided in this thread.

Smith is one messed up dude apparently. I've read here that his wife, Jada, actually told him in public she was screwing other guys? Really? And this was quite recent? Sorry, but there is no way in hell I would stay with a woman who not only cheated, but then proclaimed it to the world in order to humiliate her husband. That takes a real *****. Her bags, or mine, would have been packed within 30 minutes once back home, after proclaiming to the world her husband was a cuck.

As to the clip I just saw of the incident, Smith was way out of line and should be charged with assault, but of course he won't. Regardless of what she's done to him, Smith lost his cool over a joke that, in all likelihood was an innocent mistake on Rock's part.

Rock is a good dude but he should have gave one right back at that weirdo Smith. Dude was sitting there laughing at the joke before he got up. The only slap that should have occurred was Jada slapping Will.

I’ve met probably 50 Cats Pause posters in person. I’ve never once changed usernames. And I would defend a loved one in a heartbeat.

Actually, pretty sure Madison is a girl. She's always protesting about something or trying to smear those she doesn't like so she can feel nice and comfy. LOL, she's a massive pile of Sh*t.

The thing is, it wasn't necessary. It was a joke on an awards show with a history of hosts making fun of the celebrities in attendance. There was nothing necessary about it. Rock should have pressed charges against him for assault.
If you did what Will did, do you think Rock would have to press charges or do you think the police would just show up because every watching saw what you did ?

I don't watch them either. I stumbled across it and at first thought it was staged. It was not. Rock held back because for a second he wanted to keep going. I wish he would have.
Yup. He thought about it lol. He should have and Smith should have been escorted out

I kinda look at Smith as an abused spouse. She has made him a cuck and a fool and almost everybody in that room knew it as well as all those watching who follow celebrity gossip bs. That reaction probably had to do as much with Rock as it did with him feeling like a b!tch in front of the world with what she has done to him.

Kind of hard to feel bad for the guy after he’s gone public bragging about them having an open marriage in which adultery isn’t forbidden.

I grew up a wrestling fan, so it wouldn't be a massive shock if it was staged, however there's no added benefit to either guy here. Rock has had a long and successful career and is still relevant. He could've announced a North American comedy tour last Friday and people would've ate those tickets up. Smith was a heavy favorite to accomplish what everyone in his profession wants to achieve and already has his pick of scripts/films. Why would he want to overshadow reaching the top of the mountain by faking a physical confrontation with a comedy legend? As far as The Oscars go, it needed this attention desperately, but the show was nearly over. You don't (the Academy here) plan something like this to occur when the event is close to finishing. Like I said, it wouldn't be a shock, but it could also just be a dude who lost his cool.

You also don't plan to have it involve the guy who has to go up there and make a speech right after.

The potential fallout for Smith should be interesting.

I wonder if the little *****, Will would have gone up on stage if that had been Dave Chapelle standing up there cracking jokes? He would still be kicking Smith's ***.

I’m the only person that would pat will on the back and say way to go. Finally this dude gets pissed about his wife. It’s like before he was numb. It is all the pent up anger over her infidelity. That woman has some strange hold over men and maybe it’s her clam that is like a rose or is tight as a Chinese finger cuff. Idk but I say hell yeah will. I would not be caught dead watching that **** show of a celebration but that clip gives me some respect for smith now. I like Chris rock but he was the one who touched smiths nerve that smith felt like it was ok to punch. For whatever reason maybe a curse or something will loves his wife like there is no other woman. The guys emotions are high and it took balls to walk up there and hit that dude. When he said keep my mf wife’s name outta your mouth” that was for everyone not just Chris rock. I hope will gets the balls to leave that ***** honestly. She thrives off this **** but maybe this is the first step for will to realize how toxic she is bc obviously her banging everyone didn’t wake him up.

as for Denzel and Sam Jackson consoling him that’s good too bc maybe Sam will say something like “I want that ***** to die and hope she burns in hell”. Seriously though maybe they can get through to him that his wife is a ***** who uses will as her frontman. I mean if you don’t listen to Denzel you’ll never listen to anyone.

Why would you think there would be fallout for a guy that has crushed an acting career, his whole career!

Not to mention he now has the ability to executive produce IIRC.

On Monday, in a statement posted to Instagram, he apologized personally to Rock for the first time.

"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris," he wrote. "I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."

I love Hollywood. You can always count on an extremely stupid comment like “I am a work in progress” or “I need to take time for self reflection to better myself” which is likely coming next.

Just a hollywood idiots way of deflecting blame onto to some bigger thing other than the fact, they’re simply complete and total morons.

I would have been tackled by security before ever getting off the stage, maybe before ever getting to Rock.
You certainly would have been tackled as you turned to walk away and you would have been charged, absent Rock pressing charges. If a man hits his wife and there are witnesses, but the wife does not want to press charges, do prosecutors stand down for the wife’s wishes?

I want to know where security was? How does a man who isn't supposed to be on stage walk up on stage and slap the host and walk off stage and return to his seat without ever encountering any event security whatsoever? I know the answer and yet it still blows my mind.

If I was a security guard at the Oscars and saw Will Smith walking up on stage I would have assumed it was an act.

I would have too, but what about after he assaulted him? I would like to think security would have at least escorted him out of the building or detained him and called police. That's what blows my mind. What would he have had to do to Rock for that to happen?

No. Everyone was confused and still trying to figure out if it was an act. People were still laughing before Will Smith started cussing after he sat down. Extremely unrealistic to expect them to escort Will smith out of the building within 2 mins. I mean come on don’t be ridiculous

Imagine if Chris Rock had been packing last night, and had waited until Smith got back in his seat, then proceeded to draw and drill Smith six times in the chest and say "Slap me one more time motherf*****" Would have gone to jail but the story would have been epically different.
What in the world is wrong with you?

GI Jane 2? I do not watch these type of shows but GI Jane 2? That is a very minor movie to be making jokes about a quarter of a century or so later.

You may be right, but I would think they go over with security who is supposed to be on stage and who isn't. It's not a very good security plan if they have to guess at what is part of the show and what isn't. If security knew he wasn't part of the act, and they should have, then it is not unreasonable to expect they would intervene after the altercation.

I suspect that no one expected it and it looked at first like it might be part of the show. And, then, there is the fact, as you alluded, to the privilege give famous rich people.

IMHO, Smith shoulda let his wife fight her own battles. I mean she kicked *** in New Jack City.
