ever return to WVU as long as the school remains in the Big 12? Or are the Mountaineers destined to become the perpetual Rutgers of the bloated Big 10?

Yes, basketball will be fine. Expecting excellence every year is unrealistic. Football will be very tough with the landscape of college football presently. Getting top talent is impossible so fans need to adjust their mentality or just quit being fans.

And when ...since Don N...has WVU had excellence in football? Maybe fans who accept mediocrity should just quit being fans.

Very true. Even Don N days, went to Fiesta Bowl and Sugar Bowl once each. I went to both games but that was it in 20 years. And recruiting and developing players for a school like WVU is even tougher now with NIL and the portal.

I'm fine with being in the top half of the conference, challenging for the league championship every few years, winning some games not expected to win more than now and every so often, work our way in the top 10.

Unless you root for a high dollar SEC or Big 10 school, forget about it. The ceiling will be getting spanked in the first round if you’re lucky to get in.

WVU is in the bottom third and sinking. Trying to become everybody's homecoming game.

For idiot WVU followers that think 13-0 seasons is only thing acceptable for the football team, they need to find something else to do. I view WVU as I do my children: unconditional emotions. With WVU it is loyalty and with my kids it is love. And loyalty and love can be crossover emotions.

This board is full of bandwagon fans. Those bandwagon fans do not cheer for the school but only W's.

I don't like losing either but still support WVU 100%

For idiot WVU followers who that think 6-6 seasons are good enough for the poor old folk from all the creeksides and hollers, they need to find something else to do. Accepting mediocrity blindly and using love and loyalty as the rationale belongs firmly in the "once a loser always a loser " category.

It may not be “accepting mediocrity” but embracing reality. Unless WVU gets invited into the Big Boy Club, then dropping down into lower tier football is where we’re headed.

I don’t like it, and will still be a fan of the school, but I’m not going to rail on everything and everyone 24/7 about it. Life is too short.

Root believes cheering for your team and school is accepting mediocrity. So far from the truth he can't see the difference.

Isnt the free board great...where people who didn't go to WVU and doesnt support them financially, tells you, you shouldn't be a fan of WVU anymore.

Love to think what state WVU would be in if we all left and people like root were the only ones left to 'support' the University.

What a great world.

There will never be a time nor should there be when WVU football can only expect to be Kansas. Some appear duped that because Neal Brown cant coach or retain skilled players that means WVU football cant ever be winning conference championships or playing in major bowls or even the playoff.

Its not the case. The U just needs to move on from the Brown debacle and hire a competent coach and staff.

As for bb, Huggins needs to move on and let someone more prepared For the sport of today come in.

More about nothing is the Bucky. Quit pretending you're a WVU fan.

Huggins will be here until he decides he is leaving.

Rich Rodriguez had a few years of excellence and Holgorsen had a few good seasons too. Even Stewart won 9 games a season in the watered down Big East.

No way should WVU be winning only 5 games a season.

Don't worry Bucky. This Browns last year. You can suck Holgy and complain about the new guy next year.
