Will the gambling type please explain why you like the sparrows on thursday night?
I actually think SC covers this easily.....
1. Thurs night nationally TV game, 1st game of the year.....at home.....SC sells out and is loud as hell when they go 4-8, and they have high expectations now
2. Veteran QB, veteran offense for SC
3. Southerns defense sucks balls, especially their passing defense, and all signs point this august they are still having problems.
4. Southern has good offense, and good QB play, SC has a very stout defense, i think SC defense wins this battle....big game, big atmosphere.
5. line is 14, that means on a neutral site, its 11. I think SC at home with this particular game should be giving up 5-7 instead of 3, and this is where i think the difference is.
I had lunch with a rebel booster doctor of mine last week and we talked about this very game. He went to that SC/miss game last year and said that he hopes Miss never schedules a thurs night away game ever again.....because the home team is always fired up and the crowds always electric....
I just cant put it in my mind that southern covers the 14.....SC at home, veteran, nationally televised, 1st game of the season....
im looking at a 38-20 type game in favor of SC.....
maybe im overlooking something here....please inform me why some of you think southern will cover
