Will this work?

Makes me wonder if its too much for out athletic/PR department to get the word out by other means. I mean by e-mail or flyers around campus, commercials, etc. People take action when they see things over and over again. Nobody will actually be serious about doing this unless everybody is on board. They forget how fickle us state fans can be when it comes to doing something like this.

Is this board on board?</p>

I'd be more concerned with whether or not the ***-hats in charge of this bidness will even pick the right shade of maroon...in all likelihood it will be more like Bama's crimson color if I had to guess.

I hate being negative about State fans, but there is no way they come close to pulling this off. You have all the too-cool to wear maroon frat boys who won't wear solid maroon. You have all the blue hairs that will be wearing their blue, green or whatever color cheap plastic parkas Wal-Mart sold for the cold weather even if it is 90 degrees out. You have all the rednecks wearing camouflage. You will have the clueless girls wearing their pink State Ts. I have never seen state fans get together and wear one solid color. Even the best white outs at the Hump have been peppered with blocks of clueless fans with different colored shirts on. I wish we could pull it off though.

you spent the energy to find a shirt color that is actually maroon. One of the people involved even said as much on Genespage. Maroon is a hard color to display perfectly on a computer monitor. Hell, look at this site -- the graphics look crimsonish.

That's because except for white, we are color challanged. We cann't even decide which shade of maroon (or crimson) to sell in our damn bookstore. Much less anywhere else. If everyone wore maroon, you couldn't tell it ---- they would all have a different "interpretation".

but when you have people wearing blue, green, yellow, and every other color of the rainbow then there is no conformity whatsoever. I just don't understand why State fans can't at least try to wear either, maroon, white, or grey. You know you are going to a sporting event. You know which team you are cheering for. You know their color is maroon. At least just try to wear that color or something like it. You don't even have to wear one of the many shades of maroon. You can wear grey or white, what is so hard about that?

I disagree. Most of the " too cool" frat boys you are talking about are the ones that actually wear the correct color of maroon and look nice for the games. Look around at the sections they sit in and you will see I am right. As for people not wearing maroon, its usually the "too cool" GDI's. Most of whom are not that cool anyways.
