Will Tommy Tubberville ever coach again?

I know many people hate him, but I've always enjoyed watching his Auburn Tigers and especially enjoyed the 6 consecutive iron bowl victories. The SEC has changed alot over the last few years coaching wise- but I still can't picture Auburn without him. For some reason I believe he'll be on the sideline in the SEC before too long. Thoughts?

If and it is a long shot Urban ends up a ND next year. Any chance he could end up in FL?

My gosh Auburn has all the tools in the world to be successful and he was run out of town there. That is why I was puzzled why several MSU fans wanted him. If he got run out at Auburn for losing, what the hell do you think he would do at MSU? Maybe he could land at somewhere like Miami and do decent.....but I know I sure wouldn't want some washed up reject coaching my school. Thank God we didn't hire him.....

he was sabotaged by the banker, et al, at Auburn. I don't like him, but he can coach.

Washed up coach? How many times in the history of college football can you remember a school retaining a head coach, then forcing him to completely change his offense from running an I formation and Ace back to running a spread and completely changing his staff? They made the man change the offense he ran at Arkansas State, Ole Miss, and then Auburn, and it didnt work for one year, and you call that washed up? You obviously know absolutely nothing about what goes on behing the scenes at Auburn with the AD Jay Jacobs and Bobby Lowder. I would have rather had him than Dan Mullen because the guy can coach and recruit, and he has a hell of a head coaching track record. The man has an undefeated season on his record and has put some pretty good people in the NFL. He didnt get run out of Auburn for losing, he got run out of Auburn because he was too powerful and the people at Auburn who have the money had to get rid of him.

I know Petrino has only been there a year or so, but Petrino is known for moving on pretty quickly and if their fans aren't patient.

If Tuberville is patient, I think he could land there if certain things play themselves out.

Newmsu, you need a history lesson son. Tubberville did nothing but win consistently and dominate his Alabama while he was there yet the money man louder and the board of trustees couldn't let the man do his job without meddling in his buisness. He's a helluva coach that will coach again in the SEC. My prediction is that he will replace Les Miles at LSU. I don't think that highly of les and think with a down year next year the powers to be at lsu will give him the ax. JMO!!

Good god. The guy's not even 55 yet. He's gone undefeated in a season. And he's had 3 losing seasons TOTAL, 1 at Ole Miss, and his first and last seasons at Auburn. Four 9 win seasons, an 11 win season, and a 13 win season. If that's "washed up" then Jackie has drowned by now.

Washed up? Has Been? You're an idiot.

Tuberville had ONE losing season in 10 years at Auburn. Auburn has better resources than we do at the Mississippi schools, but they are probably 5th or 6th in the SEC. He had them competing at the top of the SEC West almost every year. He made one bad coordinator hire that I think was forced on him, and he had one losing season because of it. In 14 years in the SEC, he's had 12 winning seasons, and that includes rebuilding us from a really bad probation.

In my opinion, I still think Tuberville is by far the best coach MSU could've hoped to have landed. That includes Petersen or anyone else for that matter. I honestly think Tuberville just wanted to take a year off so that he can be the hottest free agent coach on the market next year.

That said, I definitely was hoping that you guys would get anyone but Tubby.

for MSU though. I agree that he is a great coach, no doubt about that, but what if the Texas A&M or Miami job comes open next year? He would be gone in a red dog minute (Emory Bellard). And don't get me wrong- I want Mullen to do well and move on, BUT I don't want it to happen for another 3-4 years where he can hopefully get the program going in the right direction and established where he can then turn the keys over to someone else. I don't want us to be a pit stop, and MSU doesn't need that.

Plus, all you hear from State's players and recruits is that they want to play in the spread, run the spread, and the fans want to run the spread. Well, I think it's pretty safe to say that Tuberville would NOT run the spread after the Tony Franklin debacle. Which is fine, but it's pretty obvious that MSU fans in general want to do something different than run out of the I-formation.

Meyer said recruiting at ND takes you all over the country, and recruiting at UF keeps you in your back yard. Until his kids grow up, graduate, and move out, he will be at UF....if he is coaching.
