Vandy and Arkansas are two of the top teams in the SEC. Extremely tough road environments, both games on the road. Without 3 of our best 7 players, ostensibly, I assume, for the remainder of the season, many would see this as an unwinnable stretch over the next two games.
I wouldn't be so quick to write this team off in either case. The thread asked : "will we be competitive with them?"
Oh yes, bet on that. These guys have learned what it's like when the opponents smell blood in the water. They know and understand, now, how much harder and intense it is, and the sheer effort that is expended against them - especially on the road. We have to go into places where they absolutely hate us, curse us, and disprespect us right back outta the joint. "Whatever it takes" for them to win the game when the circus comes to town.... Am I not right ? They hate us with an irrational hatred I honestly cannot understand completely.
And after getting our asses handed to us in games, underperformed and been outhustled, outplayed, outcoached, this team, over the past 5 games at least, have held fast to the belief that they will keep fighting in every game and if they get behind, keep on giving 110%, or they will get blown out and embarrassed. But they also believe in themselves, and that they can do what it takes over the course of a game, to get back in it, and win.
God bless them and CMP. Overcoming adversity and reaching deep down inside can lead an ordinary person to greatness. You don't truly become great until you overcome YOURSELF. I know it in ways most people will never know or understand. Conquering brain cancer and the resultant tumor ( long may it remain gone ) 28 years ago, and a broken back 17 years ago - spending 7 of the last 10 years in a wheelchair before utterly changing everything in my life to finally stand - and walk - again ....
is proof positive that miracles can and do happen. And it starts INSIDE.
I like to think our Cats' are learning some of the hard lessons, but in a very different way, to realize that dreams never die - only when you give up on them do you ever really LOSE. And here at Kentucky, we have the expectation whenever, and with WHOMever we are playing against, that we are going to win the game. Period. So screw the 0-2 talk. Piss on the idea of getting blown out and not even being COMPETITIVE when we play. Jesus. Some of you all need to grow a pair of balls and/or get your panties outta yer' buttcrack. We're going to Nashville and Fayetteville and winning the damn games.
Don't give up or give in, my Big Blue brothers and sisters ! Pass it on !
Go Big Blue !
