Will we break a record for JUCO signings this year?

When you have every school telling recruits, the WVU staff won't be there for long, that's all you have to settle for

which classes are the bad ones? Why are they bad and what is missing from them?

I'm interested in getting your take on this.

i'm not big on breaking things down for people. you need to look at Vernon's info.

any class that we only have 7 or 8 current roster spots is a bad... i believe we have a couple of those in the last 4.

To an extent I actually agree with him. And it's sad when the resident Marshall troll is a better poster than the OP.
We've seen no reason to believe that the coaching "instability" is having an impact on recruiting and they just picked up two highly regarded players so I'm not sure how you could agree with him but ok.

I am not a big fan of Dana and feel that his recruiting classes have been soft...or worse they tend to evaporate. However, he has had success with jucos and could see big benefits from the current juco bonanza. Jucos are more mature, proven and prepared to take the next step in my opinion. Has worked for K-State. Can, and has to a more limited extent, worked for WVU. So....this is one is hard on me...cudos to DH and staff for grabbing some interesting jucos who could make a difference. Good job IMO. Keep 'em comin".:football:

The point of the thread was IS THIS A RECORD? anyone that knows, care to share?

BUT a thoughtful poster, not numbers, might have also asked is Dana mortgaging the future to save his job this year. It's as valid a question as you will ever see here.

We had attrition in the upcoming junior class

How anyone could spin this recruiting strategy into a negative is pathetically inept....

Mortgaging the future would imply that WVU didn't sign some great HS recruits as the very same positions that we attacked on the JUCO market

But we did...... great CBs, Safeties, and RBs

Adams, Tonkery, Long, Mahome, White, Stewart all DBs for WVU's future

thats very true. Lyons needs to get it together and offer an extension to Dana. It hurts recruiting.
If a recruit is smart enough to come on a message board or smart enough to base his decision on coming to WVU because a lack of contract extension don't you think that recruit is smart enough to understand Dana needs to produce more before he gets a contract extension? If a recruit is hesitant to come to WVU because of a lack of extension I don't want him here anyway. I would rather have a kid with the mindset of coming to WVU to help Dana earn a contract extension by helping the programs success.

its pretty much common sense. Recruits and their families want to know the coach will be there to guide them, teach them, and watch out for them during their 4 years. Lyons is dropping the ball on this one.
