At the same time, I’m grateful to be in this position to be able to fulfill a lifelong dream.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>A native of Cincinnati, Williams averaged 13.3 points and 9.5 rebounds this past season, leading the Mountaineers to 26 victories and a ranking of No. 8 in the final Associated Press poll. Williams recorded 16 double-doubles this season and earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Team.</p><p></p><p></p><p>“We support Devin in his decision to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a professional basketball player,” said coach Bob Huggins. “We wish him nothing but the best and appreciate his contributions and the impact that he has had on Mountaineer Basketball.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>Earlier this season, Williams became WVU’s 50th 1,000-point scorer. He has 1,134 career points and 846 rebounds, becoming the 11th player in school history to score more than 1,000 points and grab 800 rebounds. </p><p></p><p></p><p>“I would like to thank my teammates, coach Huggins and the coaching staff, Mr. Lyons, President Gee, all of the basketball support staff and the entire Mountaineer Nation for all their guidance and support during the last three years,” said Williams. “This has been a tremendous experience for me and I will always be a Mountaineer.”</p><p></p><p></p><p>The 2016 NBA draft will be held on June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.</p></blockquote><p></p>
