we beat three bad teams. and i have seen several people on here say that we gave florida all they wanted last year. thats not entirely true. we had two pick 6s to keep the score close but they shut us down offensively. we had 237 total yards and went 2-12 on 3rd down conversions.

i would love to go into jean short central and beat that *** but realistically its not gonna happen. we are simply not fast enough on the edges to make plays and they will shut the middle of the line down which obviously will limit ballard. i would be shocked if ballard finishes the game with more than 60-70 yards. relf is a tough runner but lacks the speed to beat any of their linebackers. and obviously our WRs versus their DBs is a terrible mismatch. we dont have a single player that can attack the outside and go get a ball. and as talented as bumphis is, he isnt fast enough to beat their DBs either from the slot or as QB.

but if we luck up and have the ball bounce our way for a close win, i'll gladly take it.

from 01-08. Winning 3 in a row is definitely something to be excited about. In years past, losing 2 of those 3 games would have been the norm.

That while we have improved on both sides of the football, they have regressed on offense. If we win the turnover battle we win. They aren't in the same league as LSU or Auburn. If LSU doesn't try to give them the game, they win by a comfortable 2 td's. Only thing I hope doesn't happen is they wake up ala Georgia. That needs to wait a week at least.

Also, UGA is a much better team than their record. And while Houston isn't that good, they could still very well win CUSA.

I said that beating UGA and Houston, two average teams, is something that we would have 17ed up in years past. We handled both of them. So, yeah, I think it's okay to feel good about it. Sorry you'd rather ***** about it.

I think their defense is still good enough to shut us down, whereas even though their offense is struggling, I'm not sure we can shut them down. I expect this to be like LSU. They beat us with Special teams and field position. If we stay even or ahead in the turnover battle, it'll be close and probably a nail biter. We lose theturnover battle, it probably get out of hand like LSU.

but compared to us they still are. we dont have a single player on offense that would start for them short of sherrod. also without actually digging into the complete list we dont have anyone on our team that they even offered a scholly to. (maybe there is one or two but not more than that) just like LSU they are on another level physically than us. speed and strength

And somebody above mentioned Auburn and LSU in the same class. I was on the Auburn bandwagon for a while but I just don't think they have enough defense to be in the LSU/Bama discussion.</p>

Nobody said anything of the sort you dubmass. We are on the verge of bowl eligibility because we have FINALLY played the game like everybody else. Beat 4 weak teams in the nonconference and go a minimum of 2-6 in the league, voilà your bowlin!

Jesus Christ, enjoy the winning record while it lasts instead of being a 17n toolshed. We beat the teams we should have beaten, and that includes a down Georgia. So 17n what. It's better than 3-3 or worse!

LSU dominated Florida much more statistically than they did us, even though the UF game was on the road and the MSU game was at home. Florida is a veryinexperienced team that is struggling. They do have more talent than us, but this is nowhere near the unwinnable game that going into the Swamp usually is.

over-matched at every position and don't have a Chinaman's chance to win the game. You don't have to win every game with just offense. Our defensive play last year kept us close. I seem to remember that the last time we beat Bama, it was with defense. No, we do not have dominant players at every position, but we are better this year than last at most of them. And part of our getting better is beating the bad teams we should beat. What's wrong with that?

While the gap between our D and their D (and our O their O) statistically might be similar, I haven't seen anyone in a maroon jersey that can break open a game by themselves. MSU has to have everyone working together to get results- when we've won we've been very methodical. Florida has a few guys who can break open a game even when the rest of the team is struggling.

they've given up over 30 points in consecutive weeks and to very mediocre offenses. Relf has 1 less passing touchdown than Brantley in half the attempts. Yes we can hang with Florida.

Star power isn't everything. Nebraska's qb is a 3 star talent and now a heisman candidate. Randall Cobb was a 3 star recruit that was really only looked at by UK.

I don't like giving up big plays to Alcorn and over 400 yards to Houston. Also, it seems like we've given up a lot of third and longs this season.

I really do think we have a chance in this game. I always think that, but I think it a little more this time. I hope Brignone can go. We're surely going to need him.

They have beaten 4 ****** teams and lost to 2 top 10 teams.... Looks similaR to our season, except Georgia is better than any team they've played. Their wins are against some powerhouses this year: Miami OH, South Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Guess we should just stay home and save the travel money according to your assessment.

UF is #1 in the conference on KO returns.

If we don't plan something effective for kickoffs, UF will return 2 kickoffs for TDs and return the rest of them to our side of the 50 yard line. The result would be us getting blown out. Just like the LSU game.

fla has a ton of so called playmakers, but i have yet to see any of them do anything impressive. i am so sick of every frekkin game the announcers gushing about demps "world class speed". I dont care how fast he is, he sucks in pads and i would rather have ballard toting the rock

And without him, they really don't have any playmakers, hard as that is to believe. When he's healthy, he's a good player though.

Saying Ellis Yeaux didn't have a snowballs chance in hell to beat Florida because they had escaped against Tennessee at home. They were on the bring of mutiny here in BR before Saturday night. But I think we all know what happened in the swamp this past Saturday. And low and behold Les let Florida back in the game and had to dig in his magic bag to win. We have a better chance to beat Florida than we've had in the past decade.

relax, enjoy the recent success. if we play our possession game and the defense playsas well asthey have been than it will be a goodcontest and we will havea chance to win. we have great momentum at this point andteams feed on that emotion. especially when they are the underdog.

while yes they aren't USC, Ohio State, and Alabama, we still beat all 3 very handily. Should we have beaten them by more to make you feel better? We did beat Houston by more points than UCLA. Who has Florida beaten to make you think they're going to whip our *** Saturday? Which of the 0-3 SEC teams have they beaten that screams that this is 2001 all over again? They are in the bottom half of the FBS in offense.

but fact is, the teams we have beaten so far just havent been very good. memphis is absolute garbage, Georgia is bad, Alcorn is Alcorn, and Houston were missing their best players. The goo dthing is we are now beating the teams we are supposed to which is a breathe of fresh air.

UF does indeed have better publisized athletes than we do but that does not paint the whole picture....

we have quality athletes just like FL, TX and CA athletes just like MS does, we just don-t have as much\\

with Mullen at the helm, we will prove that Saturday and move on.. win or lose , with Mullen, we will show that we can compete with the eliite as long as the coaching is in tacht..

Florida made offers to both Bumphis and McPhee. Regardless, a win on Saturday puts Meyer on the hot seat and guess who as the top candidate to replace him.

Georgia is bad,
Georgia just beat the absolute **** out of a team that came within a penalty with no time on the clock of beating LSU in Baton Rouge. They also gave South Carolina a much tougher game in Columbia than Alabama did. They're still a pretty good team.

Also, Houston may be without their best player, but they still have a very good chance of winding up in the Liberty Bowl as CUSA champions (I know that's not much, but they don't suck).

You come here and trash the team for winning 3 straight games with 2 of the 3 that would or have kicked or *** in the past, and then end your comment by saying "if the ball bounces our way and we win.....I'll gladly take it." (paraphrase). That's ********!! You are either on board or not. UF has done nothing this year for anyone to be intimidated by....only complete game was really against UK, outside of that their offense has looked very average at best. Their defense has been their strong suit, and LSU really handled them with their running attack. Every team has good and bad games, but if UF doesn't come out ready to play on both sides against us we will beat them.

I remember a little game last year where we were not supposed to be within 2 touchdowns in, they have better athletes, they are going to a New Year's Day bowl, and if I'm not mistaken we beat them by 14. We are not in the elite of the SEC, but we have a team that can beat 10 of the 11 in the SEC on any given day. We couldn't say that the last 8 years, hell even Croom beat UF!

.....that needed UAB to miss 5 FGs for them to squeak by in OT. You can say what you want, but Georgia has been a pretty bad team so far this year, Especially without AJ Green. And Houston was not only missing their best player, but they were missing their 2 best players. They just arent very good right now

Like I have been saying, I am glad we are beating the teams we are supposed to be beating though. It is a welcomed change.

Will we beat Florida? Probably not. Though they are reeling and we are playing better, the talent differential is still there and the game is at the Swamp. Still, we do have a better chance than it looked like before the season.

The thing I fail to comprehend about your approach is how mad and negative you are towards this game. We have beaten four beatable teams. So what? That is what we are supposed to do. The two teams we lost to are undefeated and one was on the road. In one game we played poorly, in the other we had a chance to win but didn't cash in. Still, we are right where we need to be at this point. After 6 games we have 4 wins. Think about that. We are two wins away from bowl eligibility with UAB and UK coming up at home in the next 3 weeks. We could be bowl eligible by the bye week. That, my friend, is a huge change from the past. You act as if we should be expecting to beat teams like UF at this juncture. Have you forgotten that we have been to exactly one bowl game in this decade and had a horrible coach for 5 years. We are now only in the second year of what looks like a pretty good coach and he already has righted the ship on beating teams that we should and scoring points. We are doing fantastic. We might get trounced Saturday, but we still have two winnablehome games coming upand Ole Miss on the schedule. We are in excellent shape. Chill out! A little optimism isn't a bad thing after all the years of bad football.

i didnt say a 17ing thing about uab, kentucky or any of the other winnable games on our schedule. i didnt say i was unhappy with 4 wins. i didnt say that it was impossible for us to win 7. i didnt say that we werent better than we have been in the last decade. i said we were going to get our *** beat this weekend.

and trust me, i know how bad we have been. i lived it. so if you think i have forgotten about the past and should appreciate where we are, 17 off. i appreciate the hell out of it. i think its 17ing awesome that we have dug ourselves out of the ****** decade that started after 9/11/01 when we played south carolina.
