Not sure if anyone else noticed this but MSU has played the least amount of home games in the past 5 years than anyone else in the SEC for a total of 32 games versus everyone else on that list.<div>
</div><div>Three years we only played 6 games at home. Strickland needs to work out a 2 home 1 away schedule with smaller teams.</div>

Both Byrne and Stricklin have made it clear that we won't have any more 6 home game seasons.

Stricklin has us set up for 7 this year and next year, and likely will every year going forward. This is the first schedule that's all Stricklin(Byrne)/Mullen...

And the price has skyrocketed the last 10 years. I think it was Jacksonville State that we were paying $750,000 to come here and they backed out late for a better offer. That was how we ended up playing Gardner Webb.

Its gotten so ridiculous that we have to resort to buyout clauses to make it unaffordable for schools to back out on us. But it still costs us a ton of money to get a home OOC game.

Larry T's solution was to offer 1-1 deals so the little OOC schools get the benefit of having a SEC school play in their yard.

I love Byrne's idea of playing in-state SWAC schools. If its going to cost us so much to get home OOC games, why not keep the money in state? Perfect solution.

Damn - playing JSU was just too complex for Larry T.

That's nothing new. In the 2008 season, we were the only SEC team with 6 home games. Vandy, if I recall, had 8 that year. Templeton deserved to lose his job on scheduling alone. He did MSU no favors with the OOC opponents and the lousy home and homes that he set us up with.
