TMZ is breaking many stories and is controversial in modern journalism because of one thing: They buy sources

It has long been an unwritten rule in journalism to not pay sources since, the temptation of money, can cause people to make stories up.

Nonetheless, that is what TMZ does and why they are getting all these stories. The Winston story is probably true
