Northwest Indiana high schools have been victimized in recent weeks where an offender gains access to the wires and steals them for scrap. Today, a theft was discovered at one our beloved schools. Please pass along to administrators at you respective schools. This damage can cost thousands of dollars to repair.

People love their copper. It's not just wires either. I remember when Palatine was putting in new bleachers by their baseball field. Left out one night unattached to the structure. Gone by morning.

‪Residents Hammond & the Chicagoland area will be pleased to learn that last night, a Hammond In. Police Lieutenant (Roger Cardwell) followed a vehicle that was suspected to be the culprit behind the copper wire thefts plaguing our Region. After legally pulling the vehicle over, ‬2 Hammond individuals were inside with a large amount of copper wire, recently stolen from a job in Calumet City.

We are certain that these two individuals are the individuals behind the copper wire thefts that have been ravaging our city over the last few months. State Charges are expected to be filed today‬ against these two individuals. We are asking the FBI to intervene and file Federal charges against them‬ as well.

As promised, I will be following these arrests up with civil lawsuits, on behalf of the Hammond residents, against these two individuals to try and recoup the hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage these jackasses inflicted upon the residents of Hammond in order to get pennies on the dollar for the stolen copper wire.

‪Official details will be released by the Hammond Police Department later today‬, I just wanted to let the public know that we have an amazing Police Department that just saved me a $25,000 Reward

Great job to Chief JD Doughty, Lt. Roger Cardwell, Capt. Zeke Hinojosa and the rest of the Hammond Police officers who worked so hard on this case!!
