So had he commuted to us he would be playing tonight. How did the Memphis administration not see this coming? They had to know Penny has given the school money in the past. They knew he would be considered a booster under the law. Yet they hired him to get one player and one player only. A player he has given financial assistance to in the past. Surely this isn’t new news to them.

Yes: Laphonso Ellis said the title hopes of Memphis are done. Correct.

No: called them “Memphis State.” Keith Lee isn’t there any more. Wrong. Cmon JWill Jr.

I don't think he backed off. I just think there's a reason kids choose other schools. There was one human being on earth who could get Wiseman away from Cal and Memphis hired him.

Is there anyone that can beat Cal for a recruit without doing something shady? I wonder how many over the years we’ve lost straight up? No hiring of family members? No envelopes of cash? No shoe companies promising lucrative apparel contracts?

You mean Penny used Wiseman to get the Head coach job at Memphis and it wasn't on the up and up....

Sorry if this has already been covered but theoretically, he could've gone to any other school and maybe would have been eligible, right?

unless that schools coach paid to move the family to their school’s town, yes. K moves them to Durham? No. Cmon that’s allowed. Cal saw the open palms and gave him a choice. The right path or the Penny Path. He chose instant gratification.

Penny is shady as hell and I don't feel a bit sorry for him or their idiotic fans who for some reason believe Memphis basketball is a national powerhouse. This is what Wiseman gets for committing to play for that dumbass.

Disagree on this one. 95% of the time I side with letting a kid play but you can’t pay for a kid to move to your city so you can coach him then use him to get a job then bring him to your school.
IF the move really happened in 2008, then wiseman was like 8 years old. Seems like that sort of makes him a victim for lack of a better way of putting it, but i see both sides. Im not upset hes not playing.

Obvious why Duke was never involved with him now. Glad K stays away from these problems.

“OBVIOUSLY”. You scumbags did the same for Bagley and Williamson (et al) but have just learned over time and were just better versed at cheating than lil Penny. Yeah, you’re innocent. Stfu.
