Go. My wish is that he is young and aggressive and please don't promote from within. I think our options are much greater then last year because Mullen will has proven he somewhat knows what he is going as a HC.

that he's not a defensive guy, and he wants a guy who can basically be the head coach of the defense so that he doesn't have to deal with it. I think it will be an experienced guy, and possibly a former head coach.

I aleady mentioned Bumpas as my top guy.

But I would consider Young. I think they were horrible a year ago, and now they're sixth in the country in defense. Plus, he was at Miami as well.

I'd look at Bruce Fowler at Vandy as well. They are always good on defense.

Jon Tenuta may be a good get since he was at ND and they didn't give him much to work with.

If Ole Miss had Urban Meyer as their head football coach, and he wanted to be MSU's head football coach, are you saying that we shouldn't hire him because the Ole Miss radio guys would talk about how our coach has ties to them?

If the guy is a good coach, we should take him. It worked for us with Bob Tyler, Joe Lee Dunn, and Melvin Smith among others. Heck, I think Dudy Noble coached a year at Ole Miss.

By all means, let them flatter themselves while we're beating the crap out of them with their old coaches.

Yes a much more aggressive DC that will teach kids how to defend. Jam the WRs, shake up the blitzing. A lot of talent will be at the DL, use it, don't just run 3 DLs.

And is preferably black...but energy and X's and O's come first

I just don't think black kids care. Or at least they don't appear to. We all see how they flocked to Croom. But aside from that, I agree. Black, white, or other.

Is you hear black guy and think of Crooms...I hear black guy and think of Melvin Smith- players love Melvin. I am not touting him to be DC, but in recruiting, his skin color makes a difference

Preferably black? Wow...spoken like a true idiot. Seems to be the trend nowadays. It'll die down soon enough. --I really feel sorry for you.

Melvin should take Felker's job. Hell, if it wasn't for guys like Fred Smoot, Robert Bean, Eugene Clinton then Melvin wouldn't have stuck around when Sherrill was here. As you can tell....he can't coach DB's at all. He is not a coach and sure as hell don't need to take over as a DC. What are you drinkin tonight 34?

Would be seeing Mullen wear his *** out on the sidelines when the D gets burned. Count me as anti Orgeron.

I like Diaz.

I thought for a first year DC he did pretty well. Especially considering our offense was abysmal as usual under Crxxms.

should be the DC...not at all...my reply was a comparision of Melvin vs Crooms...

I repeat, I dont want Melvin as DC, but a good recruiter can use skin color to an advantage

you got something against having a black DC? You wanting to sponsor a Klan rally on a Saturday?
