With Auburn's win last night, State moves up to #25 RPI...

Of course, last night's game will eventually be a wash since we play OM later. If we can winone from USC this weekend, our RPI will probably still improve. Win two, and we'll reach the top 20 in RPI going into our 'easier' SEC stretch.

State is 8-9 vs the Top 50, which is encouraging. After South Carolina, though, we're going to have to show that we can beat the SEC teams that aren't ranked in the Top 15. We need to win most of those last series.

1 of 3 this weekend.
3 of 4 non conference
2 of 3 in each of the last 4 series

No doubt SEC tourney and Regional.

Anything less and we are on the bubble for the SEC and a Regional.

then we should make a regional even if we don't make the SEC tourney. Obviously if we had the 3 pretty much gimme wins with KY that all other SEC teams get besides us then making the SEC tourney would not be nearly so iffy.

Tenn and LSU are playing their way out, along with Kentucky- We've got to get a win this weekend, and we will be fine

LSU is currently 27 in the RPI. They can very easily play their way in with a strong second half. They do play Vandy this weekend, but after that they get Kentucky, Bama, Tennessee, and MSU to close out. Those are all series they can win. Plus, 8 of their 11 SEC losses so far are by only 1 or 2 runs. They've been very competitive, and given their closing schedule, I could easily see them playing their way back into the SEC and NCAA tourneys.

I would hope that we don't end up being one of those 9 bids if we keep playing the way we're playing. We don't deserve a regional, and Bianco needs a wake up call.

ETA: Don't get me wrong. I want my team to make a regional, but I want us to earn it by actually playing better baseball at some point. We're not good at all right now.

Unless they really implode, I think they're in regardless. I think it's Ole Miss and Tennessee playing their way out with the obvious scenario of UK having no chance.

Reminds me of 2007 where there were 11 SEC teams in contention for bowl games until the last week of the season (I think the SEC ended up with 10 teams in a bowl)

I could see 10 SEC teams getting in.
