With Floyd staying at USC is there any chance that we get Gallon?

The only thing Benock will ever have to do with McDonald's is the phrase "Do you want fries with that?"</p>

Why question Bonedaddy when he is rambling about two hypothetical things, neither of which will happen.

Logic has a place. A Bonedaddy thread is not it.

We didn't sign anyone to take Jamont's scholarship last year after he left. Then we lost Brian Johnson this year. That's two open scholarships, and we've only signed Shaunessy Smith to date, leaving one free scholarship.

You can't get out of LOI's even if the coach leaves, right?

I'd say we are just SOL. Sydney hasn't signed with USC. He's the better shot even though that is a pipe dream as well.

From what I understand, he hasn't signed. It was just a rumor that we were in the running for him, and that he was loose in his commitment to Auburn. Maybe D@A or someone else can clear that up if I'm wrong. But I can guarantee if Gallon were to become available (doubtful) we would drop whoever we're recruiting like TO drops passes to make a spot for him.

Its not a slam dunk for sure thing (what is with the NCAA), but I believe its possible to get out of an LOI if the coach leaves. All the Memphis recruits can get out of theirs if they want to now, and I'm pretty sure Arizona let a lot of guys out of theirs last year when it was announced that Lute Olsen wasn't returning. I'm sure there are instances of guys not being able to get out of it in the same situation though.

You can get out of a Letter of Intent. The school just needs to release you, and its been the trend in recent years for schools to release the players because they dont want the bad publicity or notoriety of not caring about the player's side of things.
Yes yes, players do sign to schools and not coaches, but in reality they are signing with the program...which is run by the coach. And when the coach leaves, his program leaves.
I can think of probably a dozen players in the last few years that have been released from their LOI. Im sure there are plenty more if researched.
