If Moreno stays in the draft, the only thing that would prevent a complete disaster for UK next season would be landing BOTH Momcilovic AND Graves.
I would rather have those two 100%, but I like MM and think he could be better than last season. It’s a shame Mark( put all my eggs in one basket) Pope never even thought to have a starting Center ready in case he left!! If I get to pick though, it’s Graves and Momcilovic all day. If we had a real recruiting staff We should’ve had all three to be honest. And a superstar point guard. I don’t think he realizes, he’s not recruiting for Utah Valley anymore.

I agree with everything you said. But to you're point about recruiting for BYU, in this new era it just isn't the same. If you got money and a cool coach players like then you will get recruits.

I think a large portion of BBN is having trouble accepting this modern age of college basketball. Having a hard time accepting that blue blood is a thing of the past. Having a hard time accepting our tradition means nothing to these players.

Even 2012 is a thing of the past. Much less championships won in the 50s or whenever they were. I don't think BBN for the most part realizes the actual trouble we are in. It's not just Pope. There's a reason we ended up with Pope.

UK has some major issues with being behind the times and some people act like that's false because we ended up with Stein and he's done a good job at recruiting some kids to the program. HE still has to win games before any of that matters. I'll give him credit he's done a good job so far. About as good as he can. But he's young and came from a top program. To my point..he's young and runs the football program like a modern program. Players are obviously connecting to him.

If the administration isn't going to catch up with the times they better hire a coach like Stein for basketball that can overcome all the obstacles and connect with the young players. I'm sorry these kids just aren't going to be attracted to Pope. They see what we all see. He's a different kind of guy. He's struggling.

He did ok at BYU but I was talking about his job before that when he was coaching Utah Valley. He’s still recruiting at that level, a D11 level.

didn't Pope just say a couple of days ago he couldn't wait to coach Moreno this year (good god how out in space and detached he must be) anyways... NO WORRIES, POPE UNDERSTANDS THE ASSIGNMENT!
That's funny.

not one single word of that made any sense at all to me. But I'm gettin' old, I'm just sayin'.

why I don't have more of these Anonymouse posters on ignore, I know not why. Maybe I just can't keep up with all these anon accounts that pop up so much, they all seem the same to me.

I literally don't know ANY of these anon accounts anyway. But you see a thread like this pop up and ... geez. what a pointless thing.

pointless.

If Moreno leaves, Kepnang and Potter will simply have to step up and be productive. It's that simple ... that's how it has to be !!
There 2 or 3 other bigs in Moreno’s position. 1 thru 24 Draft spots are pretty much settled.
25 & above Nil pays more.

Built in excuse for Pope. Though for sure we had Moreno back to start, that didn’t happen but just wait until next year. This is a theme with Pope, always something to blame.

Built in excuses aint gonna matter in a few months from now. Proven coaches can ride excuses for a few years, like Cal. Pope hasn't built nearly that level of good-will.

That's why I kind of just laugh at all this. Pope can make all the excuses he wants. Barring a miracle he will be gone in 9 months and he can tell his future junior high Utah basketball team all about it. Cant even be mad when this thing is going to resolve itself real fast, and real soon.

The Moreno decision decides if Mark Pope gets a year 4. If Moreno decides to keep his name in the draft then Mark and Lee Anne should go ahead and put their house on the market.

Yeah next year with Pope is most likely a waste of time, but the program has decided to keep him another year so...🤷‍♂️

Which i hate for Pope imho. I want Pope to succeed but I've gotten a reputation on here as a Pope hater, it's just id rather use next year on a new coach than another year with Pope barring some miracle
