And with the "heat" or "issues" that some people think are going on...is there a good chance that with all the openings in college football this year that perhaps he gets a few calls from some AD's about his possible interest?

I see him retiring after Nebraska, but I do have to ask... Who would call him right now?

Nebraska football has not been in the national spotlight for years. Unless you want to count getting thrashed in the BIG 10 title game.

There are very few situations where at a big name school, or even just a run of the mill power 5 school, where a guy takes a job, and a year later some other school comes calling. No matter what the season outcome.

It doesn't happen to Saban, it doesn't happen to Schnellenberger. AD's realize that coaches generally live out the first parts of their contract and leave that be, call it ethics, call it reality, call it what you want.

The rare exception would be if a coach takes a job, and a school that is his alma mater or otherwise has deep history with has an opening, and then usually a call is made. Hence the rumblings about Riley to USC or back when Kiffin ditched UT for USC. In Riley's case, none of it is really that serious, and a fair bit of it was hypothetical "if only USC had fired Sark a year earlier Riley might have been one of the first phone calls".

Or a situation that most coordinators find themselves in when they get the first head job. Herman goes to Houston, and a year later bigger schools come calling. The stipulations in my first paragraph are indeed important.

Hence, you aren't going to see South Carolina calling about Riley, whether Riley was 3-9 or 9-3.

Outside of the Minny game - we have pretty much under performed every game (you could argue Wisky is flat out a better team - despite the close score). That many turd burgers should get you canned IMHO

Im honestly done blaming or thinking this years downs are on our coach, im really buying into our seniors and juniors who loved Bo so much is whats killing our team this year. If theres no fire, will to win and not giving it your all with all or most of the upper class men, then you see the results of it in our struggles and record. I really believe our football team has been divided up this year with players for and wanting Bo and younger players buying into to coach Riley. We will see if im right at the end of the season, if theres a bunch of transfers or players sent packing, then i and some of us where right.
