I'm not familiar with either of those name, which tells you all you need to know.

Those players are not wildly popular. Clark was the most popular player in the WNBA before she even set foot on a court, and she continues to have a stranglehold on that distinction. If Clark wasn't so popular, they wouldn't care about her either.

Her popularity clashes with the WNBAs known preferred demographic focus.

Her popularity was only one factor. Someone wrote an article about year or so ago comparing Clark with some other straight white girl that played in the ?nba.

The gist was that Clark didn't immediately bow to polotical stance of much of the ?nba, and didn’t kiss enough arse to things like BLM. When she did, it was too late and seen as groveling.

You are just not familiar with the basketball community. Therefore, you wouldn't know. Clark broke Kelsey Plum's NCAA career scoring record and won two championships with A'ja Wilson. Sabrina Ionescu has one of the most popular signature Nike shoes. Her shoe is worn by many NBA players. They were the Caitlin Clarks before Caitlin Clark. Let's just be honest. Two racial dynamics blew Caitlin Clark up. Her win against South Carolina in the 2023 Final Four and her loss to Angel Reese in that same Final Four. Both are a sad commentary of the race relations in this country. The win came against South Carolina came over Dawn Staley. A coach that many think is too woke. The people that think that way were happy to see the Gamecocks go down. The LSU game would have just been another game if Angel Reese had taken her victory and moved on. However, that is not Angel's personality. Angel beat her and let Caitlin know about it just like she is doing in the WNBA Finals now. Predictably, that got Caitlin fans and other people who would normally have no interest get in the fray. As a result, you have the current situation. It was sort of that way in the 80's with Bird and Magic, but Magic is nice and knew how to play the PR game. Angel is B-More tough. I know because my mother is from Baltimore. She is going to let you know that she is dominating you. If you get the best of her, she is going to come right back until she wears you down. You put all that with social media and you have a mess.

You could have stopped there. Yes, yes you are.

You probably still think 18 was talking about LeBron.
You are a perfect example of what I am talking about. The energy you give will come back to you. You try to play mean and dismissive and get all butt-hurt when that energy comes back to you. Like that time I made a comment to you about going to the DEI meeting and you held onto that hurt for 9 months. The only reason I said that to you in the first place is because you were trying to play hard and dismissive. I go back and forth with a lot of posters, but it is usually in respect. Unfortunately, you won't allow me to give that you.

I "won't allow" you to give respect? Let me be perfectly clear, I simply have no respect for you. Originally, you were just a race baiting clown. Now, your mental demise is at least turning that to pity, rather than disgust. Congrats on that upgrade.

And a DEI meeting? Holding on to hurt? At this point, i honestly cant tell if you're just making garbage up or if your brain is so declined that youre just remembering scenarios from other posters or people in your life. For all I know, you're recounting some TV show you saw.

Seriously, get help.

Is a goofy guy talking to me. Boy, haven't you learned that I couldn't care less what you say. Take your goofy behind somewhere and kick a soccer ball.

Exactly the type of response i'd expect from you once you realized AGAIN, that you got confused and rambled off a lame story to the wrong person.

I suppose part of the blame lands on whoever raised you. A decent parent would've taught you long ago to just own your mistakes and move on. Digging a deeper hole is just not the solution you seem to think it is.

Get help.

This tells more about the popularity of the ?NBA than any viewership statistic.
What is wrong with $91 per ticket (for the cheap seats)? I was expecting five dollars a ticket with a 25 dollar BiLo purchase like Clemson football used to do under Tommy West. How does a sellout with 91 dollar tickets indicate "no one watches".
Yeah, the get-in price for an NBA finals game is anywhere from the low thousands to over $10k depending on the matchup.

Viewership ratings don't mean much, even these WNBA finals have been viewed less than a Clark regular season game.

Believe it or not, though, this is massive progress. A few years ago there was a guy doing videos on the street trying to GIVE away tickets to a WNBA game. Nobody wanted them.

The point made above is true, though. People who do actually watch the WNBA do it for the theatrics. Like watching mud wrestling. Nobody would watch it for the wrestling techniques. Nobody's watching the WNBA for the tactically sound basketball.
You do realize when Clark plays, it's on network TV or ESPN. So much for the W wanting Cailtin to fail. The WNBA finals on weeknights so far have been on USA, or ION or CNBC. Where they are shown makes a big difference in audience share.
