[QUOTE="Vernon, post: 132339190, member: 1034769"] MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Feb. 17, 2023) – With the team score tied heading into the final match of the dual, redshirt junior Michael Wolfgram scored a pin at heavyweight to lift the West Virginia University wrestling team to a 24-18 victory over Clarion, to conclude Senior Night in front of 1,121 passionate fans on Friday. Wolfgram flipped Clarion’s Austin Chapman onto his back and managed to keep one leg inbounds to seal the fall in 2:16. The Mountaineers (9-5) responded with an 18-0 run after Clarion (11-5) took a 9-0 lead to open the contest by winning the first two matches at 125 and 133 pounds. Redshirt senior Alex Hornfeck gave West Virginia its first lead of the night, as he scored the first takedown of the match and ended it with a four-point nearfall to claim a 10-2 major decision over the Golden Eagles’ Trevor Elfvin at 157 pounds.
