So Amy Williams is not even halfway through her first season, and you're already declaring her a failure? Wow. I suggest you take a look at Connie Yori's first season.
Or I suggest you ignore women's basketball like everyone else in the world.
There was WAY more to it than tough practices. Granted there were some serious player welfare concerns involving Yori but those weren't the tipping point. NU had little choice but to "accept her resignation". If things get settled out of court the whole thing may not get officially disclosed which would be in Yori's best interest. The team was a mess chemistry wise last year so we were in for a rough road this year no matter who was coaching this team. The defections aren't helping but Amy is a great recruiter and coach so I believe she'll turn things around quickly.

And Jessica Shepard still looked out of shape and fouled out after not doing much at all. A few lazy rebounds to pad her stats and that was about it. Oh and getting abused defensively.

Amy Williams is a damn good coach and she will be successful at Nebraska IMO. One of the best recruiters out there. Give her some time.
Amy is doing well and they are getting better. However, they were left with 12 players and our best defender is out for the year with knee surgery. Several freshman and sophomores are playing. Give them time. Next year will be much better.
One thing Amy was well know for at USD was how hard her players would work in practice and how hard they played in games. She inspired a tremendous amount of "want to" in her players at USD and she did it without berating them incessantly. NO team played harder for their coach than those girls at USD did and that will happen sooner than later at NU.
