If we weren’t on the cusp on having to pay $20 million annually to our studious mercenaries I would think Purcell’s seat would be blazing hot

Alabama is hitting everything they throw up for a shot. They are shooting over 60% in the field. That is ridiculous.

We have decent talent. He needs to find him a bench coach and not a bunch of cheerleaders like he has now.
It's only decent talent though, still. It's not great talent at all. His recruiting has been fairly disappointing overall and his coaching just isn't good. He's too much of a "have fun" coach and not a hard *** like you've got to be.

How many of you actually give a ****?

Sure, I’d like us to be good at everything. But if we’re not good at women’s basketball, or get blown out, or lose a game we’re not supposed to, my blood pressure will not rise. My mood will not change in the slightest.

They had a really tough early schedule in the SEC. Came through it mediocre, but starting with the Arkansas game Thursday, there was a 5 game stretch of winnable games I thought they needed to perform really well in. They did that Thursday, but Arkansas sucks.

This first half performance at home against a good, not great, Bama team is an absolute embarrassment. To be down 25 on your home court at halftime in a game that really really matters is inexcusable. I'm back on the 17'n fence. Better things to do. I wanted to believe in Purcell because he can recruit, but there is damn sure something serious missing.

I enjoyed Vic's great teams so much that I'll fully acknowledge that I'd like us to be relevant in WBB again. We probably never will be, but considering the league we play in and the fan support we've proven is there, we could be.

It has a minor effect on my blood pressure when we look like we did today, but I can't say I don't care.

They do, but our cash flow isn’t heavy enough to pour it into WBK right now
One might even say that it's hemorrhaging money

2024 revenue: $696k
2024 expenses: $4,775k

Put simply, women's basketball is not making enough in revenue to even cover the $949k in scholarship expenses, much less the $2.2M in salaries that the staff is making

We just aren't very good. I thought Purcell came to us as a recruiting machine. I always get a chuckle when I hear statements like that. OK, you are an assistant at OSU and you can recruit?!?! Duh, that's like saying a DL coach at Alabama is a great recruiter. Wave some green under recruits noses and they come running.

He had a top 10 class this year. Recruiting is not his issue

The only reason I watched because this game was one of my granddaughter‘s last games she will be cheering. Co-ed cheerleader, senior, graduates this spring and has been accepted to law school. To say I’m a proud grandad is an understatement. 4th generation Bulldog!

I watched Texas and our old coach, Vic, beat South Carolina today and saw much of the toughness we used to have on this team.

Same here. I was invested with Vic at the helm and loved how his teams played. Since then, I’ve just been embarrassed for the teams. It’s atrocious at how Vic built a program and it has gone to shat.
